Timber specialists, Rosenfeld Kidson, are particularly passionate about thermally-modified timber, carrying the timber brand, Truwood® – a clear grade, low-density hardwood produced from a timber called Ayous, sourced from well- managed forests.
Some timbers are better suited to heat treatment than others and with Ayous the transformation process works particularly well, producing a product with exceptional durability, stability and weathering properties.
For architectural and multi-residential builds, Rosenfeld Kidson offers a complimentary cladding Quantity Surveying service, providing an elevation and schedule, detailing all lengths, quantities and locations of cladding and components, assisting with accuracy of quoting and supply. Rosenfeld Kidson’s expert sales managers — Dan McMahon in the North Island and Paul Taylor in the South Island — are on hand to support with everything from onsite technical services to closed circle interaction with our suppliers.
Compliance
Easy detailing and compliance are achieved through the Rosenfeld Kidson, CodeMark-certified Cedarscreen systems. Truwood® and Cedar cladding share the same profiles and details and with combined certification, this ensures Truwood® is very easy to specify and use with Rosenfeld Kidson’s trusted and well established systems.
Innovation
One of the main benefits of thermally-modified timber cladding is its stability. Due to the modification of the wood’s cell structure, the timber absorbs less moisture, reducing movement that leads to cupping, splitting, and checking around fixings.
Because the wood is less likely to expand and contract, and the natural sugars and starches have been removed from the wood during the modification process, it’s significantly less susceptible to rot and degradation from UV and the elements.
These advances enable us to be more creative with the timber profiles and detailing. Rosenfeld Kidson is now able to offer unique concealed fix weatherboard profiles for our Vertical and Rusticated cladding systems.
The new concealed fix profiles allow us to be creative with innovative joinery and corner detailing. The new profiles and details offer ease of installation – keeping it simple, whilst delivering a modern and distinctive timber façade.

WOODFORCENZ
High-performance, ultra low-VOC finish for a natural look. Specially formulated for Truwood® timber cladding.
This high-performing factory finish provides exceptional protection and won’t break down with exposure to sunlight, retaining its water-repellency and protecting against blackening and deterioration. A durable wood treatment that allows exterior wood to weather naturally and more evenly. Because it erodes gently over time, long-term maintenance is easy - the end user can apply a fresh coat of WoodForce, as needed.
Our colours have been optimised for accurate viewing across a variety of media. However, due to differences in how screens display colour, actual colour may vary. Colour may vary depending on texture, grain, colour, porosity and type of wood and may not be exactly as illustrated. Always test the purchased product on an inconspicuous part of the project to ensure the colour and transparency meet expectations of your control sample.
