A new collection by Kohler offers a quintessentially modern bathroom faucet and accessory collection that invites consumers to define the creative process. Components, the latest bathroom collection by Kohler, designed in Europe by leading French designer Bruno Cheasseneau is an odyssey in tapware created with the intention to allow the consumer to take a leading role in the design process.
Defined by a strikingly beautiful balance of masculinity and femininity, Components is a homage to contemporary aesthetics combined with an unexpected layer of innovative actuations. Inherently pure, the lines and form of each component are simple yet graceful, each compatible with the other allowing for a complexity of combinations to define a unique range of aesthetic styles.
“Components is a full bathroom faucet and accessory collection for the contemporary bathroom that speaks to the many facets of modern design. Every element, from spouts and handles to the accessories that complete the space, is designed to feel like a minimalist piece of modern sculpture,” Kohler’s Dee Hunter says.
With a choice of more than 70 combinations within the collection, Components represents a new level of design freedom, creating the platform for a unique definition of individual style in bathroomware.
“The collection invites you to design your own signature look by combining a faucet spout with your chosen style of handle and finish. The different spout and handle combinations within this curated collection allow you to bring a touch of personality to the bathroom. “Once you have found a style that speaks to your taste, select the finish and create a distinct look. Components is a versatile collection that was designed to be designed - by you.”
The spout choices that make up the Components collection feature clean, minimalist, modern lines creating a bold silhouette and a striking design statement in any bathroom, and are available in both deck- and wall-mounted options.Handles are chosen separately, each compatible with any of the spouts in the collection and offer both wall mount and hob mount options along with single lever basin mixers in three heights. “Every actuation is intuitive and effortless and comes together with the other chosen aspects to create a quintessentially modern aesthetic.”
The actuations represent an intuitive yet completely new way to use a faucet, creating an element of unexpectedness. “This is part of the beauty of the Components collection,” Dee says.
“When you lift the handle to operate the single Lever basin faucet, for example, it in fact doesn’t move up and down as a traditional handle does. Instead, it glides side to side in a disc-like rotation to control the heat of the water. When the handle is lifted to turn the water on - a coloured laser etching becomes visible to indicate temperature levels.”
Adding to this intricacy is a very unique “rocker handle” which is a two layered disc that actuates a spout – by simply sliding the disc backwards and forwards and offers multiple installation location opportunities offset from the spout – this has been incredibly popular with designers always seeking new looks.
Available in three finishes - chrome, polished nickel and a matte black, the Components collection also includes bath tapware, shower mixers and bathroom accessories to seamlessly complete the bathroom.
Components will be available in New Zealand in August 2019, initially in chrome, with a staged release of the other finishes throughout 2019. Visit Kohler on ArchiPro here to view the latest in innovative bathroom design.
