From cleaning stormwater to reducing reliance on catchment ponds in residential developments, Stuart Girvan of Permcon sheds light on the exciting, lesser-known benefits of permeable concrete.
Permeable concrete is made up of stone aggregate, cement, water, and Permcon's special additive. Without a sand filler, the concrete has holes throughout.
Because Permcon don't use a plastic cover during the cutting process, their permeable concrete can be coloured to create driveways like the one pictured.
Permcon's recipe is reliable for applications like carparks and right-of-ways.
“By putting the stormwater through a permeable system, we’re slowing it down and cooling the water, thus delivering cooler water to the receiving streams and rivers.”
