Each base can be custom manufactured up to 1000mm x 1000mm, with dimensions, configurations and fully customisable outlet positioning tailored to suit the individual project. Shower base selection and detailing should be considered in conjunction with AS 3740, applicable NCC requirements and the specific installation conditions.

Larger Bases

Projects requiring dimensions greater than 1000mm x 1000mm are not necessarily limited by the standard 12mm manufacturing parameters.

Formed can work directly with architects, specifiers, builders and project teams to assess the required dimensions, installation conditions and design intent, providing informed technical and manufacturing guidance to determine the most appropriate solution.

Formed 12mm Solid Surface Shower Bases can be custom manufactured with a range of lip configurations to accommodate different wall, shower screen and entry conditions.

Wall lips, shower screen lips, partial lips and lipless edges can be nominated independently on each side of the shower base, providing architects, designers, builders and installers with flexibility to configure the base around the intended bathroom design and installation method.

Initial quotations are indicative of the nominated configuration. Prior to manufacture, a detailed custom order form is provided to confirm all critical specifications, including base dimensions, lip type and location, partial lip dimensions and outlet positioning.

Standard lip profiles add approximately 10mm to the overall height of the shower base and provide a defined interface for integration with adjoining wall finishes and shower screen systems where required.

Partial Lip Profile:
Lip profiles can extend along only a nominated section of an edge, allowing multiple conditions to occur along the same side of the shower base. For example, a 1000mm edge may incorporate a 500mm wall lip, with the remaining 500mm manufactured lipless to accommodate an open-entry shower configuration. Partial lip dimensions and positioning are confirmed prior to manufacture.

Custom Lip Profile:
Where the standard lip profiles do not suit the architectural or installation requirements, customised lip dimensions and configurations may be available. Formed can work directly with the project team to assess taller, wider or alternative profile requirements and determine an appropriate project-specific manufacturing solution.

Shower Lip Profile:
The Formed Shower Lip features a 10mm high x 35mm wide profile, providing a defined surface for the installation of compatible shower screens and brackets. Its slim profile complements the minimal appearance of the 12mm shower base while providing a consistent interface for the nominated shower screen system.

Wall Lip Profile:
The Formed Wall Lip is designed to provide a defined junction between the shower base and adjoining wall construction. The profile incorporates a 10mm external upstand, with an internal 25mm-wide section providing an interface with the adjoining wall and tiled finish. Wall construction, waterproofing and finishes should be detailed in conjunction with Formed's current installation requirements and applicable project requirements.

No Lip Profile:
A lipless edge provides a clean, uninterrupted transition at nominated sides of the shower base and is particularly suited to contemporary open-entry shower designs. The shower base retains its precision-manufactured fall toward the waste, while surrounding floor levels, waterproofing, shower screen arrangements and water-containment requirements must be appropriately designed for the specific installation.

Combination Lip Profiles:
Different lip profiles can be incorporated into the same shower base. A single base may, for example, feature wall lips along two sides, a shower screen lip along another and a lipless entry. This allows the 12mm shower base to be manufactured around the individual requirements of the project rather than restricting the bathroom design to a predetermined configuration.
