Austral acoustic panels are plantation-grown Queensland Hoop Pine plywood, perforated or slotted on our own CNC machine in Brisbane to the pattern and border you specify.
The smooth grain and pale honey tone stay in view, while the open face lets sound through to the backing behind.
Our factory spray line coats the walls of every hole and slot, not just the face, which is very hard to achieve with a brush or roller once panels are on the wall. Supply them raw, clear-finished or in any Ariaply colour, with acoustic felt backing already fitted if you’d like it. Austral has made Hoop Pine plywood in Brisbane since 1925.
- Specs
- Perforated: round holes 6–10 mm at 12.5 mm or 25 mm centres, in square, offset or diamond patterns
- Perforated open area: 4% (6 mm at 25 mm, square) to 32% (8 mm at 12.5 mm, square). Diamond is made at 25 mm centres only, giving 8–24%
- Slotted: routed slots 4–10 mm wide, in 2, 3 or 4 columns, giving 13–22% open area on 2400 × 1200 panels
- Standard sizes: 2400 × 1200 mm and 2700 × 1200 mm
- Finish: raw, clear, or Ariaply colours
- Backing: acoustic felt, factory-applied on request
- Perforated: round holes 6–10 mm at 12.5 mm or 25 mm centres, in square, offset or diamond patterns
