This 32mm Lustre Bronze Pop-up Waste is designed for basin or bath drain hole sizes at approximately 45mm in diameter.

This pop up waste is designed for a 32mm trap. If you are attempting to connect to a 40mm trap, you will need to purchase the adapter HERE
