Bassinet Mattress
Handcrafted from premium natural materials with love and care, our wool and coir bassinet mattress provides the firm support your baby needs. We understand how important it is for infants to have a healthy sleeping environment. As a result we’ve created a bassinet mattress that is extremely low in VOCs and made with 100% natural materials, so there are no nasty synthetics or harmful toxins hiding within. Moreover, each bassinet undergoes rigorous testing to comply with the AS/NZS Voluntary Standard for firmness to ensure your child can sleep peacefully and safely.
There are no latex layers in either of our cot or bassinet mattresses. These mattresses are composed of a GOLS certified coconut coir core wrapped in untreated Australian Downs Wool which acts as a comfort layer and regulates body temperature. The coir is a rubberised coconut fibre that gives the mattresses an even firmness and allows plenty of airflow through the mattress. These layers are then hand-stitched into a dust-mite resistant organic cotton cover. There are no sprays or chemicals used at any stage so we do recommend keeping moisture away from the mattresses and occasionally checking the underside for dampness. Each of our cot & bassinet mattresses are tested to comply with SIDS guidelines and voluntary standard for firmness.

All of our bassinet mattresses are custom made to order, please provide the required dimensions in the notes section at checkout. If your dimensions are larger than the start specified below there may be an additional charge.
Please note mattress dimensions may vary by a few centimetres due to the natural variations of 100% natural materials.
Your mattress is made to order and will generally take us between 5-10 working days to complete. We require the length and width dimensions to be provided by the customer, and should the cot be anything other than a rectangular shape or have rounded corners we require a paper template to work from to ensure a snug fit inside the frame. The thickness of the cot mattress is not customisable as the current layering design has been designed to comply with AS/NZS Voluntary Standard 8811.1:2013: Methods of testing infant products – Sleep surfaces – Test for firmness. Please be aware that as this is a handmade product made with natural materials there is a little bit of variation expected.
All Bassinet mattresses come with a 5 year manufacturer's guarantee.
The Natural Bedding Company guarantee covers the following:

- Material defect
