In 1926 the architect Luciano Baldessari called Luminator, a prototype of coat hanger lamp designed by him. It was then developed, in 1929, as a Luminator mannequin, in two versions "Barcelona" and "Bernocchi". The latter was produced by the Italian industrialist Antonio Bernocchi who patented it in 1931. In 1933 Pietro Chiesa's Luminator was born.

Owners, Clare and Sonam, sum up what they do ‘They are furniture curators.’ With an elusive knack for recognising beauty, potential and sometimes an obscure harmony that can be found between signature pieces of furniture from a score of era’s. The word “eclectic” goes part way to describing the aesthetic that their work realises yet doesn’t quite sit right as it doesn’t even begin to allude to the beautiful consideration and restraint that they innately instill upon spaces they work on. “We like to provide that unique piece for the home, that finishing touch’.
Our own collection ‘MakeBelieve’ aims to create transportive furniture that brings the past in line with the present, to twist the notion of time and space in our homes. We will be working with local artist and makers that share our passion. Our pieces are designed to be illustrative and playful. Our intention is to create transportive, unexpected pieces to bring joy to the home.
