FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL High Load is a structural thermal break engineered to eliminate thermal bridging at one of the most critical junctions in a building envelope – the wall-to-foundation interface.

Manufactured from high-density cellular glass, PERINSUL High Load provides exceptional compressive strength while maintaining long-term, non-degrading thermal performance. It is purpose-designed for use beneath load-bearing masonry and brick veneer base courses, where conventional insulation materials fail structurally or thermally.

As the New Zealand distributor for Owens Corning FOAMGLAS®, Accumen stocks PERINSUL High Load locally, enabling designers to confidently specify a robust, proven solution for reducing heat loss, condensation risk, and energy inefficiency at slab edges and wall bases.

Scope of use

FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL High Load is suitable for both residential and commercial construction, including:

  • Base course insulation beneath brick veneer and masonry walls
  • Load-bearing walls at concrete slab edges
  • Floor-to-wall junctions in thermally efficient slab-on-ground construction
  • Parapets, upstands, and structural wall junctions
  • Beneath timber or steel framing sole plates (subject to structural verification)

PERINSUL High Load is designed to be installed as a single continuous course, fully bonded in mortar, ensuring uniform load distribution and uninterrupted thermal performance.
