Our Old Elm Timber Collection embraces the rawness of natural materials. We embrace the unique characteristics of each piece; the subtle twists and turns, the beautiful knots, and the organic splits that may open and close. Like most natural materials, care and maintenance is required over time to retain your desired aesthetic.

Sourcing
Our Old Elm Timber Collection is sourced from salvaged beams that are repurposed from 100-year-old buildings. We carefully hand selected each one for their raw beauty and unique character. Any variations in the timber or colour are completely normal and are to be celebrated.

Sealant
Our Old Elm Timber is finished with one coat of sealant to maintain the natural beauty of the timber, so it retains a raw aesthetic. To help you become a master of craftsmanship we have put together some recommendations to help you maintain this aesthetic.

We’re aware some clients prefer to avoid any characterisation and instead retain the showroom appearance of their piece. For this we always recommend surface protection; tablecloths or place mats for meals, avoid hot surface contact, avoid oils, grease, and spills such as butter. And be aware that close proximity to fireplaces or air-conditioned areas will create movement in the timber.

To clean your table simply use a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust. Do not use cleaners or chemicals.

To help retain the original showroom appearance of your timber, a natural hard wax (clear matte finish) could be applied every 12 months.
