Zinc is also a widely known traditional metal, so why choose it for your project?
Zinc is the fourth most common metal in use globally, behind iron, aluminium, and copper in typical annual production and it will weather to a greyish pewter-like patina. For maximum performance of zinc products, it is important to provide a system that protects the underside of a panel or product. Architectural Metalformers employs various methods to ensure the correct installation of zinc. Each zinc project should be discussed with an Architectural Metalformers Technical Representative.
Zinc is a moderately reactive bluish-white natural metal that tarnishes in moist atmospheric conditions. Zinc reacts with acids, alkalis and other non-metals. Clients may expect slight colour variations between panels. However, any possible colour variations will be minimized over time by the continuous formation of the protective patina. All ferrous and non-ferrous products require ongoing maintenance to ensure the best possible performance and compliance with terms of warranties.
