Internal

Ironwood are able to mill, cut and supply stair treads and risers from recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timber. The treads can be supplied to match the colour and species of our recycled timber floors or as a stand alone feature. Standard tread sizes are usually up to 285mm wide with a thickness of 32 and 42mm.

We are able to access larger section sizes of naturally seasoned timbers which means we can supply stair treads in thicknesses of 50, 60 and 70mm or more.

Recycled timber stair treads usually keep some of the character from their previous use such as nail or bolt holes and surface checking. Reclaimed and new hardwood treads have a cleaner finish. Our treads are supplied raw and are usually oiled, sanded and finished to match the flooring on site.

External

Ironwood supply recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timbers of high durability that are suitable for external use. Species such as blackbutt, ironbark, spotted gum and tallowwood are available to match decking.

External stairs can have a sawn and wire-brushed finish for a more rustic and slip-resistant finish. Ironwood have also supplied grey and heavily weathered feature timbers such as railway sleepers and bridge decking for stairs providing a timeless aged look.

Ironwood Australia are Australia’s leading and foremost supplier of recycled Australian hardwood timbers.

Ironwood Australia's recycled hardwood timbers are suitable for any purpose for which timber can be used; from residential and commercial premises to golf courses, schools, playgrounds and bridges.

Ironwood (formerly known as the Rozelle Recycled Building Centre) was established more than 20 years ago. Our recycled hardwood timbers are sought after and specified by some of Australia’s most well known and highly regarded architects, project managers, interior designers, property stylists, property developers, hoteliers, restauranteurs and, of course, DIY renovators who want to add some character to their renovation project.

The quality, look and strength of recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timbers far exceeds the quality of new timber products and also has the added attraction of being an environmentally sustainable and renewable building material. Unlike new timber, the resawn recycled timber will stay straight 99% of the time.

This also means that our recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timber can be used for a variety of purposes. They can also be milled to size at our own mill and we can finish the timber with a range of finishes to give the timber that exact look you are seeking.
