Shower Heads & Slides

The most common type of shower head in Australia, wall mounted shower heads are just as described. They can come with or without attached shower mixers.

Handheld shower heads are connected to the water outlet with a flexible hose. These are often fitted on shower slides.

Dual mount shower heads have both a wall mounted shower head, and a handheld shower head.

Rain shower heads produce a waterfall of low pressure, high volume water. They are much more gentle compared to your standard shower.

Any bathroom plumbing, from bath mixers and taps to shower slides, has to deal with water pressure and repeated adjustments. If quality materials aren’t used, this can wear parts down over time. High quality materials and design allow shower heads and slides to function as intended for longer, without suffering from issues such as drooping shower heads or leaking connections. They are also more likely to be more stylishly designed and within the range, have a wider choice of styles too.

A simple wall mounted shower head is easy to understand and use, and has less parts to wear out. There is a growing preference for handheld or dual mounted shower heads and slides as they allow for more targeted use.

More luxurious options such as rain shower heads and massage jets can provide a serious upgrade to your showering experience, but they come at the cost of greater water usage. If you choose a shower head with a high output, you need to be able to match the water pressure and provide enough hot water.
