Suppliers usually publish a maximum opening force spec; oversize the actuator by at least 20 % for long-term reliability. Aluminium, timber and uPVC frames all accept automation, but the mounting brackets differ-confirm compatibility with your fabricator. Window automation does not require building consent on its own, yet the installation must still meet the National Construction Code (NCC) requirements for structural adequacy, safety glass and bush-fire ratings.
