Window automation does not require building consent on its own, yet the installation must still meet the National Construction Code (NCC) requirements for structural adequacy, safety glass and bush-fire ratings. For smoke-vent compliant projects, ensure actuators carry AS 4428 certification and fail-safe functionality.
