VOLTA is CiiLOCK Engineering’s concealed power-assisted roller system for sliding doors. Inspired by automotive power steering, it assists the user rather than taking control of the door. A light push or pull activates the powered assistance; when the user stops, VOLTA stops. There are no preset opening distances, travel positions or closing times, so the door retains the familiar, intuitive feel of a manual sliding door.

Unlike conventional automated door systems, VOLTA is integrated into the door itself and can be manufactured and installed by suitably capable window and door fabricators. It does not require a specialist automation contractor or a dedicated overhead operator. This allows VOLTA to be incorporated into familiar aluminium, timber and other compatible sliding-door systems using conventional fabrication and installation methods, with only the additional provisions required for the powered roller system.

The motor, drive system and supporting hardware are concealed within the bottom of the door, preserving clean architectural lines without visible automation equipment or bulky overhead mechanisms. An automatically recharging battery powers the system, while the door remains manually operable if powered assistance is unavailable.

Built on CiiLOCK’s self-levelling Mother of All Rollers technology, VOLTA can be integrated into compatible sliding-door systems and supports panel weights up to 250 kg in approved configurations. It is particularly suited to premium residential, aged-care and accessible-design applications where ease of movement, architectural minimalism and familiar user control are equally important.

VOLTA is available as a documented power-assist option for Capral AGS Commercial 900 Sliding Door configurations. The integration allows architects to combine Capral’s established commercial sliding-door platform with concealed, user-controlled VOLTA assistance. Final panel size, weight, configuration, seal friction and hardware selection must follow the applicable Capral technical documentation.
