Can you replace pool coping without replacing your tiles?

When water gets down into the tile area, it will cause erosion and can damage it beyond repair. In some cases, however, the tile can be saved so you don’t need to replace it when replacing the pool coping.

The standard pool coping overhang in Australia is 30mm but can be more, especially for swimming pools that aren’t square as a thicker coping helps to hide the outer line of the pool. When there are holes between the pool and the coping they will need to be filled.

This depends on a few factors such as the material you use and the climate you live in. Typically, you can expect your pool coping to last anywhere from 10 years to 30 years in Australia. Stronger materials like porcelain will last much longer than composites.

This depends on which material the pool coping is made of. Typically, brick and concrete coping are 30mm thick, but porcelain coping can be only 20mm thick. This is due to the strength of the different materials.
