When I was young, I helped my grandfather in his cabinet-making business during the school holidays. My admiration for my grandfather and his work ethic encouraged me to strive to achieve ownership of my own business. I completed my cabinet-making Apprenticeship in 2000 and AJB Kitchens was born. I can honestly say that I love my job and I love helping people turn their visions into reality.

AJB Kitchens was established in 2000 and has been operating for 23 years. Initially, I worked full-time as a kitchen manufacturer and carried out my own kitchen renovations in my spare time, working from a garage in my backyard. As word-of-mouth referrals grew, I took on more of my own jobs, left my full-time job, and moved my business into a small factory unit located in Seven Hills, NSW. After several years of carrying out our work in Seven Hills, and with a growing number of skilled staff joining my team, I found the need to expand to bigger and better premises.

In late 2012 I purchased two adjoining factory units in Kings Park, NSW, to accommodate this growth. These factory units were more modern and spacious and have allowed me to take the business to the next level, with the addition of modern machinery, including a CNC Router and Spray booth. These new premises have also allowed me to fit out our new Showroom for my customers, as well as provide a much larger office space for my administration team.

We believe the fundamental ingredient in maintaining a successful business is to exceed our customers’ expectations.

From a marketing perspective, it costs a business more to find a new customer than it does to retain an existing one and to receive referrals from our customers due to outstanding service. It is for this reason that a high emphasis is placed on ensuring you are looked after with friendly and helpful service from the very beginning.

The steps involved in any new kitchen renovation are designed to keep all parties informed and accountable. At AJB Kitchens, our approach to kitchen renovation ensures open and honest communication, sound advice, and transparency. It helps the renovation run on time and without managing any other trades. It ensures the design works with your home and to your needs & lifestyle without any compromise.

1. Getting To Know You

The secret to any great relationship is a sound understanding of each other. Getting to know you and your family is first and foremost and our design consultants will help us gain a better understanding of the vision you have for your dream kitchen.

Our professional team will assess your needs and lifestyle to best determine the type of kitchen you can build.

We find this is a great way to build confidence and trust, the foundations of any great partnership.

2. Kitchen Design Consultation

Now that we have a clear understanding of your kitchen usage, lifestyle, and vision you have for your kitchen, it is time to start designing!

Our Estimator/ Designer will visit your house and listen to your wish list, guide you through the practical design consultation, and work with you to create the perfect design layout to suit your needs for your dream kitchen.

3. The Quotation + 3D Plans

Next stage, our Estimator / Designer will prepare your itemized quotation.

At this stage we also prepare 3D plans for you to visualize your kitchen before it goes into manufacturing, it also allows you to discuss the design with your family.

Once complete, we email your quotation and 3D plans, then follow up with you, should you have any questions.

4. Acceptance On Quotation

Once received, you may wish to make alterations to ensure the plans align with your ideas. Once you are happy with them, the next stage is acceptance of your quotation by paying a 10% deposit.

You can feel confident that our entire team is working together with the same vision in mind. Our Estimator/Designer then issues final plans and specifications with your finishing choices.

Upon receiving your approval on the plans, specifications, and the next progress payment we then go into manufacturing at our factory at kings park.

5. The Manufacture of Kitchen

It is time to start manufacturing your new kitchen. We process your entire job via computer and then send it down to the latest CNC machine. The CNC machine takes digitized data from a computer to control, automate, and monitor the movements of the CNC machine. The automated nature of CNC machining works laser guided which enables the production of high precision and high accuracy. Our qualified team of joiners then knock up your custom-made cabinetry to the design of your approved plans. We only use the highest quality Australian-made products. Depending on the type of cabinetry of your dream kitchen, this process can take between 4 – 6 weeks. A further progress payment is required one week prior to installation. You are advised at each stage and informed of your installation day/s.

6. Installation Of Your Dream Kitchen

The exciting day has arrived to install your dream kitchen. The rip-out of your existing old kitchen and finishing up your new kitchen can take between 10-12 days. We manage the whole process by managing different trades for you, once the new kitchen is fully installed, then our stonemason measures the benchtop and splashback, usually, one week later the stone will be installed, and trades then follow to fit off. Once all trades have completed their work you are ready to enjoy your new dream kitchen.

Outlining our process up-front means we can both ensure deadlines are met, avoiding unnecessary delays and additional costs.

To dedicate proper time and resources to complete your work as soon as possible and to lessen any inconvenience while the work is being undertaken. To keep you informed in advance of all work performed and what is coming next, by email or phone.

To honor the wording of our Proposal so all work itemized will be completed in full. There will be no hidden “extras”. You will only pay for what is specifically written in the Proposal. Any extra work or alterations to the Proposal will be agreed upon and confirmed in writing prior to commencement.

Your kitchen comes with this excellent peace of mind warranties like

10-year warranty on all the board materials, and

Lifetime warranty on all Blum hardware (i.e., soft-close hinges and drawers).

All cabinet materials used in your kitchen are Australian-made.

3. Workmanship Guarantee

Our Workmanship is backed by a 10-year Guarantee. You have a lifetime warranty on all Blum hardware (soft close hinges and drawers), as well as high-quality finishes, moisture-resistant cabinets, ABS edges, and solid backs (many of which are not standard with others). Our cabinet materials are all Australian made and you’ll only be receiving the highest quality components.

During the installation process, our team will take all steps possible to minimize dust (by using drop sheets and taping off rooms), as well as cleaning the working area following installation.

4. Personalised Service

Our kitchens are custom-made and designed specifically to suit your needs, built on years of design experience. Our 3D computer software allows you to visualize your new kitchen and make changes wherever you would like all electronically – to minimize time spent onsite.

AJB Kitchens has employed and continues to employ, several young apprentices in order to further the career of young kitchen manufacturers and detailed joiners.

6. Environmentally Aware

All board used by AJB Kitchens is from plantation forests and the solid timber we use is eco-certified. You save money thanks to our 3D computer software to calculate how best to cut your board in order to ensure that the highest percentage of the board is used to minimize wastage. You’ll be pleased to know our management team is always looking for opportunities to reduce our eco-impact and, wherever possible, aim to use environmentally friendly products.

7. Value For Money

You will receive an initial quote consultation absolutely free of charge. Following the site visit, you’ll receive a fully detailed proposal with all your inclusions and pricing.

4. Make sure that you have received itemized quotes this means you have received separate pricing for benchtop, splashback, plumbing work, electrical work, and any bulkhead or cornice work.

6. Make sure all quotes have specified HMR (high moisture resistant) particle board carcass and MR (moisture resistant) MDF doors

7. Make sure all quotes have specified the cabinet door brand, color, and finish

8. Make sure all quotes have specified brand and type of drawers and hinges

9. Make sure all quotes give the same type of accessories like lazy susan, integrated bin, Warri corner, cutlery tray, spice/oil rack, etc…

10. Make sure all quotes have specified benchtop type, brand, and color

11. Make sure all quotes have specified splashback type, brand, and color

12. Make sure all quotes have specified how many power points are allowed, reface of power points, moving PowerPoint, and whether any hard wiring is allowed or not

13. Make sure all the company is giving the same warranty and guarantee on workmanship, board material, and hardware

14. Make sure all the company manufacture their own cabinetry

15. Make sure all the company use their own employee for the installation
