Avril Paynter - Neutral Bay Renovation

It has been a great pleasure to work with Andrew Payton from AJP Constructions. He has been unfailingly polite, punctual, attentive and responsive. Andrew has been present at all times on the job, and his team have impressed me with their commitment. Above all, I had every phone call promptly returned and if I had concerns, they were discussed and responded to. The quality of finishes and attention to detail has been outstanding. The number of times Andrew stayed back and worked on weekends to deliver the job was unbelievable, I would heartily recommend Andrew to anyone and I feel very lucky he was my builder.

Jenny Hillman - Bellevue Hill Renovation

We were serendipitously referred to Andrew/AJP by a work colleague. Andrew was immediately excited by the architectural plans and the detail sitting within the build. He also made us feel excited, confident and full of trust - that it was all going to be achievable, doable within our budget, and there were even some ideas to make it even better. From the moment we commenced the engagement, Andrew was the very definition of professional in his approach and he worked seamlessly with our Architect - always making it easy for us. He maintained a detailed project plan and provided us with full visibility of where things were up throughout the build. It was also evident from the very start that Andrew was detail and quality-oriented - he had high expectations of himself, his team, his sub-contractors and only a perfect job would do. The result is just unbelievable - we are so happy in what is now our dream-come-true home. We also actually enjoyed the process of renovating, which we had expected to be impossible!! The transformation from before is incredible. The workmanship in every corner of the place is spot on. Down to the millimetre. We knew we had a winning builder but it’s now fantastic to see Andrew and his team awarded with the ‘MBA Excellence in Housing’ title – it’s absolute justice served. If you’re looking for a beautiful renovation that is actually enjoyable to be a part of, we have no hesitation in giving our strongest recommendation for Andrew & the AJP Constructions team.

Angela & Nicolas Uther - Forest Lodge Renovation

It is with pleasure that I write this note to recommend the services of Andrew Payton. My family and I got to know and fully appreciate Andrew’s many talents as a builder during our 10-month engagement with him on a project to redesign and rebuild our 120-year-old, three-bedroom garden apartment in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. He was recommended to me by a well-known Sydney architectural and building designer who oversaw all aspects of the project and who had previously worked with Andrew. Throughout the project, Andrew showed immense reliability, professionalism and skill. He made sure that he was fully involved in every aspect of the work and he always approached the job with an enthusiasm, which instilled confidence in the outcome during the many unexpected challenges that this particularly demanding project threw up. In fact, Andrew’s commitment to delivering a first-class result went well beyond our expectations. He was always available to explain and account for work under his direction, which included, plumbing, electrics, painting and construction. Using his highly developed attention to detail, Andrew was also often able to devise creative solutions to problems encountered along the way. Apart from the site work, Andrew was able to provide us with extremely transparent and detailed financial details, which allowed us to know literally where every dollar was being spent, and for what reason. They were delivered in a very regular and timely manner, which made sure that there were no surprises or unexpected price “blow outs” along the way, and this certainly contributed to smooth execution of the project. Finally, a major contributor to our appreciation of Andrew is that he’s a damn good bloke. While dealing with some highly testing construction issues, which we encountered, he remained totally unflappable and focused on resolving problems with a minimum of fuss. We have remained in touch with Andrew since the work has been completed and he has been always ready to assist with small issues, which have arisen. In conclusion, Andrew’s efforts made a major contribution to the achievement of a fantastic transformation of our property. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andrew to anyone who is seeking a hard-working, dedicated and thoughtful professional who is developing what will be a highly successful construction business, based on these talents.

Ray Bashford - Woollahra Renovation

Andrew and his team deliver a high quality of service both in craftsmanship and professionalism. They have transformed our house from something tired and ordinary to a house that is unique and full of light. What distinguishes Andrew and his team from other firms is that they take the stress out of renovating. Andrew's calm demeanour and reliable, hardworking efficiency made it all very smooth and easy. We would like to thank Andrew and his team for rebuilding us a home that our family will be able to grow up in and enjoy for many years to come.

Fiona McCormick - Bellevue Hill Renovation

The renovation resulted in a dazzling transformation of my dated apartment space. Andrew made the transformation largely stress-free. He employs competent staff and sub-contractors. He is vigilant in maintaining high standards of workmanship. He rejects anything that is sub-standard. In addition, he spots potential technical and aesthetic problems before the work starts (or as it proceeds) and suggests alternatives for better outcomes. My architect and Andrew had mutual respect and worked well together. Also, Andrew keeps the neighbours in your apartment block on side by being as considerate as possible.

Malcolm Miller - Darling Point Apartment Renovation

We got to know Andrew Payton when he was renovating the house across the street from ours. He was always so considerate of the neighbours and proud to share his workmanship. This was our first indication that Andrew was the right builder for our family and our renovation. The next indication that Andrew was right for us was that his quote was fair, and he was willing to work with us to discuss ways we could balance our dream renovation and our budget. The final indication was that Andrew and his team were so hard working, reliable and professional throughout our 9-month renovation of our 100-year-old house in Rozelle. Andrew made sure that we were fully involved in all aspects and decisions related to the project. He was always enthusiastic and creative in his approach to many different aspects of rebuilding our home. This helped to keep our enthusiasm and excitement and also gave us confidence in the end result. We valued Andrew’s attention to detail and his good eye for design. Andrew does not just accept the ‘middle of the road’ option or design or construction idea. He looks to find and recommend the best solution from both a price and design perspective. We got to know Andrew well during our build. Our friends that also been through home renovations were envious of the constructive and respectful relationship that we had developed with Andrew. We recommend Andrew to our friends or colleagues that are looking for to renovate their home. We could not recommend him more highly.

Walter Murphy + Simon Duffy - Rozelle Extension

I worked with Andrew, AJP Constructions, on an inner-city terrace renovation and would highly recommend him. He delivered beautifully crafted work for a highly detailed bespoke design, with a meticulous approach. I was able to trust Andrew and his team in producing fantastic work on a high-end project, with consistently precise standards across all trades. He is an honest, hardworking builder, who was very collaborative and always came to the table with solutions to new challenges. He’s approachable, flexible, and has great client skills. The job was always very well organised, the site meticulously clean, and the job completed on schedule to a detailed programme. It was a pleasure to work with Andrew.

Rory Brooks Architects

I have known Andrew Payton for approximately 8 years. Initially, we met when he was the site foreman for a project known as “Karkov’ in Bellevue Hill. The project was a combined effort between two design teams, Collins and Turner and Donald Campbell Design. In particular, he oversaw the detailed restoration of the main house. The main building is an English Arts and Crafts house, which has some features, which references the work of C.R Mackintosh. The restoration of the house required a particularly thoughtful and design sensitive builder. Andrew worked with me to achieve a very high standard of work. In addition to the restoration of the main house a whole new section was added to Collins and Turners design. This section was contemporary in design and due to the difficult cliff-like site was a feat to complete. This project won two major building awards in 2012. Shortly after the completion of “Karkov” Andrew started his own building company and I was delighted to be able to offer him on a number of new projects. In 2012 he completed two projects for me; one in Darling Point and a second one in Clovelly. Both were completed to a very high degree of finish. The Darling Point Project was within a company title building and Andrew managed the project professionally and diligently. The Clovelly house was in its original form and was a series of small-disconnected rooms. Andrew was responsible for the complete reworking of this house. Again, he handled the renovation with incredible sensitivity and thoughtfulness. The clients were very pleased with Andrew’s time and budget management, and his work in general. Currently, he is completing a second Darling Point apartment renovation to my design. Recently I have provided him with additional new projects for him to quote on. It is a pleasure to work with Andrew. He is sensitive and thoughtful to individual design. His project management style is professional and incredibly calm. Therefore, it is without hesitation that I would recommend Andrew Payton to future clients.

Donald Campbell - Donald Campbell Designs

I came to know AJP Constructions and Andrew Payton through the neighbour of my client and entered into a painless negotiated tender process with him. If professionalism is a given requirement in the construction industry, then what sets Andrew and his team apart from others is their eye for detail and hands for finesse in their work. Andrew's ability to suggest even better design details than what I had documented, and to understand and realise my architectural vision to the final degree, is a
testament to his unparalleled skill, attention, and ability to work synergistically with architects

Renjie Teoh - Renjie Teoh Architect Pty Ltd

Andrew Payton of AJP Constructions carried out the renovation of my one-bedroom 1960’s apartment to my entire satisfaction on time and on budget. Andrew is a skilled and reliable builder who produced work of a very high standard. He maintained good working relationships with my architect, interior designer and building management throughout the project. He also was responsive to my ideas and considerate of my neighbours. I’m delighted with the result and have no hesitation in recommending AJP Constructions.

Nancy Selwood - DARLING POINT RENOVATION

Working with AJP Constructions was a rare treat, and I hope this collaboration is just the beginning of many more. Unwavering energy and positivity throughout the highs and lows of the project were most welcome, ensuring a good collaborative spirit with the client. As the scope increased each new task was taken on willingly and followed through to everyone’s satisfaction. The workmanship and attention to detail were exemplary, as one would expect from a builder of this calibre. Most impressive was the experience and confidence in managing expectations, with clarity and leadership, guiding the team through those challenging problems that arise with any renovation project. Andrew Payton and his team have a wonderful manner and I would comfortably entrust any client and project to AJP Constructions
