Bath Co supply Modern, Traditional & Designer Bathroom & Laundry furniture nationwide.

In 1950, Michael Smail, saw an opportunity to bring new quality and sophistication to New Zealand bathrooms. The firm he founded, Smail & Co, is now known as Bath Co.

The design of New Zealand houses has transformed in the six decades since then. In particular, the bathroom and laundry have seen remarkable changes. Homes now feature multiple bathrooms, and dedicated laundry spaces have taken centre stage, both of which truly demonstrate the impact of considered design.

Bath Co continues to lead in innovative and inspired design of bathroom furniture and, most recently, our Laundry range.

Embracing new technology and manufacturing locally has allowed us to design for the changing lifestyles and interior trends of New Zealand.

We remain committed to New Zealand, continuing to manufacture our three most significant ranges in this country – Michel César, VCBC and Laundry. We also distribute Burlington, a prestige brand from the United Kingdom.

We take an active approach to ensure the brands and products we work with are easy on the planet as well as the eye. We believe superior quality and the ethical production of our products go hand in hand to produce a result we are proud to stand behind.

Our manufacturing and distribution centres are in Auckland and Christchurch, giving us a national footprint. For more information on the Bath Co collections, visit bathco.co.nz

Superior Painted Finish

Our polyurethane paint is manufactured in Italy specifically for timber and MDF, sprayed at 22°C and dried at 36°C in our New Zealand based factory.

Before our designs are assembled, every panel must first go through a fully automated paint layering process (the only one of its kind in Australasia) where it is painted and heated at least five times. This process creates a finish up to five times harder than lacquer painted surfaces and gives Michel César furniture a more durable and silky smooth finish than any other product available.

A Real Timber Finish

The unusual thing about Michel Cesar timber finishes is that they're all made from real timber, then bonded to moisture-resistant MDF.

Walnut, Chestnut, Coffee, Noce, Dark Oak, White Oak, Blonde Oak and Natural Oak. All come sealed and some are stained, with a protective UV finish. Of course, there will always be variations in colour and grain, but we believe this only adds to the natural look and feel of real timber.

Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Embracing a Legacy, Ensuring a Green Future

At Bath Co, our commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in our extensive history as pioneers in New Zealand's bathroom furniture manufacturing. Just as we have played a vital role in shaping our nation's homes over the years, we recognise the responsibility to safeguard the environment for future generations. In a landscape dominated by transient trends, we take pride in crafting designs that surpass fleeting fads. Our commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with the durability of our products, reflecting our pledge to provide homes with lasting, high-quality solutions that stand the test of time, shaping a sustainable and enduring environment for generations to come.

Material Choices for Sustainable Solutions

Bath Co's commitment to eco-conscious practices is reflected in our meticulous selection of materials. We prioritise sustainability by choosing environmentally friendly options whenever possible. Notably, our New Zealand-made moisture-resistant MDF and Formaldehyde-free Polyurethane coatings exemplify our dedication to responsible manufacturing. By opting for these eco-conscious materials, we ensure that our products not only meet high-quality standards but also contribute to a healthier planet. Through thoughtful material choices, we strive to strike a harmonious balance between exceptional design and a reduced environmental footprint.

Environmentally Conscious Products

We are committed to offering products designed for water efficiency and incorporating energy-efficient LED lighting, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for our customers and the planet.

Green Packaging Initiatives

We prioritise environmental responsibility by conscientiously opting for recyclable packaging whenever possible, ensuring that our products contribute to a sustainable future.

Efficient Techniques

Our cabinetry is painted using Airmix technology, an environmentally-friendly spray system that results in minimal waste. This system ensures excess paint is recycled and the minimal overspray is thoroughly filtered before contact with the environment.

Responsible Recycling & Disposal

We actively minimise environmental impact by returning any unused coatings to our supplier, where solvents are carefully extracted and reused, resulting in a waste-free process that prioritizes sustainability and eliminates non-hazardous waste.

Like Minded Suppliers

We forge partnerships with like-minded suppliers who share our commitment to prioritising the environment, ensuring that our supply chain is rooted in sustainable practices that align with our shared vision for a greener and more eco-conscious future.
