Having learnt the traditional ways of home renovations in Wellington, during a successful and sometimes eventful carpentry apprenticeship in the early 2000’s, Kane recognised a need for real change in the industry. After spending many years in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom construction industrys, Kane conceived a way to shake things up upon his return, In 2019 with a strong vision in mind, BIM Projects was born.

We are on a mission to bring current outdated New Zealand construction methods into the 21st century by providing our clients with a seamless, more efficient, cost-effective, end to end home building experience with a strong focus on utilising building information modelling (BIM).

The weight of the everyday Kiwi homeowners toolbelt is far too heavy and without the right tools to manage home building projects, delivering consistent outcomes exceeding or even meeting client expectations has become very challenging. Project Brief

Our Architects and management team collaborate with you to understand your needs and goals. This ensures you achieve the best design and build outcome – reflecting your vision, requirements and lifestyle needs. Preparing a list of ‘must haves’ and ‘nice to haves’ helps minimise cost escalations.

Concept + Estimate

Once you have a set of draft preliminary plans, we can provide an estimate price via our professional preliminary cost service agreement. This ensures you know your approximate upfront project cost and enables key informed decisions to be made for the next stage of the design process.

Drawings + Specifications

On acceptance of our estimate, you will become a client of BIM Projects Limited. Based on your confirmed building contract selections (BCS), our designer will proceed to turn your concept into full working drawings and specifications. We will book your project in, giving you certainty of a time-slot.

Contract + Scheduling

You’ll receive a building contract detailing the confirmed project drawings, specifications, guarantees and all relevant specific terms and conditions. Upon the initial contract deposit being made, your project will be scheduled into our work plan.

Building Consent

Once your plans, specifications and all necessary consents have been granted by your local territorial authority (council), our dedicated project teamwill review and revise pricing (if required) in accordance with the approved consent documentation.

Construction

After our final review of your approved consented documentation, we will provide a start date and projected construction schedule. Our project teams use the latest construction scheduling and tracking technology ensuring regular progress updates are provided and everyone is on the same page.

Handover

After the final inspection is complete, we’ll leave your home clean and tidy. We will confirm all necessary inspections and paperwork have been completed, and we provide a workmanship guarantee ensuring total peace of mind for your new and improved home. Your home is finished and all yours to enjoy!

The Building Amendments Act 2013 stipulates builders must supply owners with maintenance and warranty information on completion of your home renovation or new build. We use the latest construction software to exceed such requirements, with automated maintenance notifications and information sent direct to you for peace of mind.
