We have enjoyed a very good working relationship with the Cadman Design team for the past 10 years. In this time Cadman has designed for our mutual clients many projects, new luxury homes, minor dwellings, renovations and extensions, a subdivision of land and a commercial retail development. Cadman has also carried out design work for my family personally with the designs for a renovation to our existing home and a new minor dwelling for our lifestyle property in Okura.

Cadman's attention to detailing along with their ability to produce clear legible specification and an easily read set of plans make building their designs very easy.

A testament to this is that Cadman Architectural Design recently completed the design for 3 town houses which are close to the end of their construction program, and have just completed the design for a clients lifestyle property in Silverdale which is due to go in for consent.

Cadman designed a house which incorporated all of my ‘wish list’ while at the same time has made the best use of the site allowing views from almost every room in the house.  My husband and I continue to marvel at the fact that we have hardly any need for additional heating during the winter.

"UP FOR THE CHALLENGE"

I came to Cadman regarding my 4 new builds for a new 5 lot subdivision in Castor Bay in early 2014, with floor plans from a resource consent application.  It was a very difficult site due to the complex landscape, with large retaining walls and an overland flow path.

Cadman took on the challenge.  Daniel Sullivan started working on the details.

Being a difficult site, there had been quite a number of technical issues along the way. Cadman have always been excellent at discussing the issues with me, providing options, and giving me the most cost effective advice.

It is rare, in the currently busy building industry that anyone could keep to their word of delivery but Cadman have been on time consistently.
Daniel in particular, has done a great job at following up with the City Council during the building consent application process.
The four building consents were approved by Council late 2014 and early 2015. It has been great experience with Cadman.

"1940 BUNGALOW RENOVATION"

Cadman Architectural Design was employed by us in 2008 to design plans to renovate our 1940’s brick & tile bungalow in Westmere, Auckland.

The brief was to convert a small existing building containing 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a single garage that was on a narrow section, to a modern 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, double garage, but having a design that was in keeping with the age of the district. 

This task was difficult in the fact that working within the narrow site, already covered by 35%. Therefore there was a need to make an application for a Resource Consent. 

It was a major rebuild, in fact, there was only three outside walls and the floor left of the original building.

We found the Cadman team fulfilled all expectations and came up with a design that was in keeping with the age of the district, resolved the Resource Consent requirements, and had the plans pass through council with ease.

The Cadman team were very pleasant to work with, always listening to us, whilst offering some great ideas, yet still working within the budget.  They returned the result in excellent time, dealt with the council and were always available to the builder for discussions.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Cadman to any other clients.
