About us
Chamberlain Homes, based in Taupo, specialise in building and renovating architecturally designed mid- to high-end properties, thermally efficient homes and unusual builds.
We also offer free, architecturally designed house plans, in partnership with New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB), which can be customised to your needs, and we can provide a design and build service, too.
Through Chamberlain Carpentry & Joinery we can furnish your home with custom made furniture and storage solutions.
Our team members have been chosen for their joinery and/or carpentry skills and qualifications, and also for their experience, knowledge, easy personalities and service skills. Our senior staff are approved members of New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) and all staff receive regular training to keep up to date with new techniques, innovations and products in the building industry.

Ian Chamberlain
Ian Chamberlain qualified as a carpenter and joiner in the 1980s, and has worked in the building industry for over 37 years, with over 30 years management and client service experience. He established his company in Taupo in 2004 and built the first Certified Plans house there in 2015.
He was New Zealand Certified Builders’ Taupo president for four years and also served as their vice rresident for over two years and became a NZCB board director in 2019. He is also involved with the Building Officials Institute of NZ (BOINZ) and on the boards of both Lake Taupo Rotary and Taupo Pathways. The latter group facilitates, initiatives and programmes that advance education, training and employment for young people under 25 and I have been involved with it since its inception in 2014.
