About us
At Elm and Ember Interiors, we believe in the power of design to transform spaces into timeless reflections of personal stories.
Drawing inspiration from the strength of the elm tree and the warmth of a glowing ember, we create interiors that embody resilience, comfort, and transformation.
Our philosophy centres on deep collaboration and understanding. We start by listening intently to our clients, exploring their dreams, lifestyles, and unique narratives. Just as the elm tree stands resilient through seasons, we stand with our clients, guiding them through every step of the design journey with expertise and dedication.
Our designs ignite emotions and create cherished memories, much like an ember that sparks a fire. From intimate nooks to expansive living areas, every element is thoughtfully chosen to resonate with the client's vision and bring their story to life.
More than just a design firm, Elm and Ember Interiors are storytellers, curators of space, and champions of style. Our mission is to transform houses into homes that exude warmth, sophistication, and enduring beauty—spaces where memories are made and stories unfold.
Join us at Elm and Ember Interiors in creating a home that is a true reflection of your unique journey. Let us be your partner in crafting a space that inspires and delights for years to come.

Deanna Michael

"I believe that a well-designed space is where beauty meets functionality, creating an environment that not only looks stunning but also enhances the way people live. Every space should tell a story that reflects the unique journey and personality of its inhabitants."
Deanna Michael is a gifted and insightful designer who creates interiors that are distinctive and perfectly tailored to each home's architectural elements and the client's lifestyle, crisply articulated in her trademark refined aesthetic.
Her flair for design is underpinned by extensive experience, intuition, and a sound knowledge of design theory. Deanna studied at Wollongong University, earning a Bachelor of Creative Arts with a focus on Textile Design. After discovering a passion for interior design, she pursued further studies in Colour Design and Interior Design. Deanna worked for several builders, designing for a wide range of clients, from first-time homeowners to investors, and crafting display homes before establishing her own firm in 2015.
Deanna's process begins with a deep understanding of her clients. She believes that the more relaxed and trusting her clients are, the better she can capture their true needs and desires. Her detailed planning includes smart space planning, selecting durable and beautiful materials, and ensuring every element serves a purpose.
She manages all aspects of the project, from concept to completion, working with contractors and overseeing construction to ensure everything aligns with the design plan. Her attention to detail is evident in every finishing touch, from furniture and rugs to decor and lighting.
Deanna's vision is to create homes that feel personal and unique to her clients, where they are proud to entertain, live comfortably, and make lasting memories. Her calm, friendly, and reassuring manner, coupled with her dedication to educating and guiding clients through the design and construction phases, sets her apart in the industry.
