Since 1981, Michiel Gerber has been designing, building, renovating and restoring residential properties to the highest standards – with an industry reputation to match. Michiel has won numerous awards, including excellence in housing and creative design.

With a powerful combination of architecture, building, site and project management skills, Michiel has an eye for design and a talent for construction.

As well as having run his own design and construction practice for many years, Michiel has more recently held Project Manager and Site Manager roles for high-end construction firms building multi-million dollar luxury homes throughout Sydney.

Michiel’s architectural practice dates from 1993, with over 50 homes completed in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Michiel has won two Master Builder Awards for excellence in building. A graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) Michiel was awarded the 1993 WA Nelson Memorial Prize for Best Honours Dissertation.

Michiel co-founded Gerber Hoven with the shared vision to offer clients a premium, personalised service committed to delivering not just beautiful houses, but even more importantly, much-loved homes.

As co-owner and co-founder of Gerber Hoven, Michael van den Hoven has over 15 years of experience in building in Australia, the UK and New Zealand. Trained and qualified as both a licensed Builder and Carpenter, Mike’s precision building skills are second to none.

Mike’s passion for construction has taken him from building unique and amazing houses and homesteads in New Zealand’s most stunning landscapes, across the world to London, where he worked on some of the most prestigious homes and luxurious apartments in the city. Based in Sydney since 2014, Mike has been building and collaborating on high-end residential builds in the Eastern Suburbs, demanding perfection for each and every project. Unique architectural design elements are his forte, as he loves bringing these exciting, challenging concepts to life.

Mike takes a hands-on approach to his role as Builder and Project Manager at Gerber Hoven, personally ensuring each aspect of the build has the highest level of workmanship. Mike’s commitment to your build and the high respect he has for the builder-client relationship will ensure your project runs smoothly from beginning to end.
