GHD Design

Contrary to common perception, sensational design does not 'just happen’. It needs to be nurtured, encouraged and developed in order to make it not only beautiful, but smart and fit for purpose. GHD Design brings the disciplines of architecture, interior design and project management together to form an unmatched combination of inspired design, precise delivery and creative talent.

Our methodologies ensure that the standard of our work is not only highly creative, but also in line with best practice. Our approach emphasises design 'from the inside out' to ensure it specifically addresses the needs of those who will use it.

ARCHITECTURE

We can boast a breadth of architectural achievements, including office buildings, schools, stadia, aged care facilities and cultural centres. In each case our success lies with our empathy. We listen to our clients and work hard to identify and understand and recognise what is important to them, which enables us to design beyond their expectations.

INTERIOR / SPATIAL DESIGN

Today’s workplace needs to be much more than comfortable – it needs to be stimulating and inspiring and promote collaboration and connection. As well as creating some of Australasia’s most dynamic workplaces, our industry-leading experience in spatial design extends to public spaces such as libraries, law courts, tourist attractions, and healthcare facilities.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

All projects need firm management to keep them under control and to ensure timely completion, within budget and to the highest standard of finish. GHD Design project managers offer our clients that peace-of-mind. The team is hugely experienced in delivering hard and soft fitout and operates to the most stringent quality standards.

URBAN DESIGN

We recognise that the growth and regeneration of our cities and regions require both a practical and creative design approach, supported by innovative planning and engineering approaches.

With this perspective, our urban design service spans a wide spectrum of city-building and transformation projects. From large scale land development projects to smaller site-specific proposals, we can provide a range of specialist advice and deliverables - including assistance with public and private plan changes, residential subdivision and site master planning.

GHD Design has always taken a sustainable approach to design, believing that for any space to be considered truly successful it must have a long life-span and be of benefit to its users and the surrounding environment. Recently there has been an increased awareness of the need for greater sustainability, and the subsequent development of “green” building products, finishes and methodologies has allowed us to further our efforts in this area.
