We had to make a decision of employing a Builder from overseas, so had to rely on our gut feelings, this turned out to be a good decision. His attention to detail, relaxed approachable easy going manner helped us achieve our goal of building our home in 2010.

Having had such a good experience with Golder Residential Ltd I used them to do some renovation work for me and two years ago to add an extension to my mothers home in Royal Oak converting the brick and tile unit to a three bedroom two bathroom home. The workmanship was superb and it was almost impossible to tell that the property had been altered. Recently I used Steve to reclad a 200sqm townhouse. Again Steve has not disappointed. His ability to problem solve and patience has been impressive. So what distinguishes Golder Residential from other builders? It is the pride they take in their work and the attention to detail. Based on personal recommendation we selected Steve Golder and his team at Golder Residential. Right from our first meeting with Steve we developed an instant rapport. A quotation for the work was prepared that we found very clear and reasonable. We made a decision to move forward with a complete re-clad, re-roof and replacement of the aluminium joinery with stronger, double-glazed units. We had a good idea of what we wanted; we had an architect complete the necessary designs and finally we arrived at the point where we needed to select a builder With luck Steve and his team were available to start at the same time as the Building Consent was approved and we commenced our project with a hiss and a roar in early 2013. It was a daunting prospect for us and had the potential to turn our lives upside down. With shrink-wrapping we were able to remain in the house for the duration of the project and the building team took every effort to ensure the disruption to our daily lives and to our valued neighbours was minimised. This included arriving every day at the agreed time, agreeing with our request to not work weekends and warning us in advance of any major work that might have additional impact. The team were consistently respectful, discreet and communicative. The project required a number of sub-contractors, such as roofers, glaziers, tilers and plasterers. Steves solid relationships with very high-quality tradespeople made that aspect painless. Every sub-contractor who worked on site was polite, reliable and skilled. We enjoyed making the acquaintance of each and every one of them, all of whom we would be very glad to see involved in any future projects. Our project is now behind us. We couldnt be happier with the outcome. We now have a beautiful weatherboard house, re-built to the highest standards. Every detail has been considered. When the rain is lashing down and the wind is howling we now say bring it on!! from within the comfort of our warm and virtually soundproof double-glazed house. Our neighbours still talk cheerfully to us and are appreciative of the efforts Steves team took to consider their needs. The value of our house has increased and most importantly – our minds are at ease.
