We’ve done fit-outs for restaurants, retail and dental clinics. For bars, banks and offices. We’ve done kitchens, wardrobes, shelving, cabinets and all sorts of other storage solutions. History? How can Graft Joinery have a history when they’re a brand new company, we hear you ask? Well, the truth is we’ve been in the trade for over 13 years but have recently branched out on our own. What was once known as CDM Central is now Graft Joinery and while it is in many ways the same company, it is also in many ways completely different. Under our new mantra of ‘working smarter’, we have committed to innovating, improving and streamlining all areas of our business. But we’re keeping our attention to detail. We’re keeping our best staff (and adding new ones). We’re keeping our commitment to quality. And we’re keeping our commitment to all our clients, past, present and future.
Graft Joinery is now run by a brand new duo—husband and wife team, Craig and Julia van Velden. After 13 years of ‘hard graft’ working for CDM Central, this pedantic dutchman decided to give self-employment a whirl. With help and support from staff, friends and family, CDM Central closed its doors and reopened as Graft Joinery Ltd.
So what does working smarter REALLY mean for our clients? It means a more efficient workflow. It means making use of the latest technologies at all levels of our business, from accounting and time management software, right through to tools and machinery. It means a thorough knowledge of materials which often leads to more economical solutions without having to compromise on a high quality outcome. It means we can think outside the box because we understand that box inside and out. It means happier staff and happier customers. We’re young, innovative and we’re excited for the future

COMMERCIAL
The Graft Joinery team has over 40 years of combined experience in the commercial sector. Over the last 16 years, we have supplied cabinetry to a huge range of commercial clients. These include; ASB, Barfoot and Thompson Realty Lumino the Dentists, as well as other boutique clients. Each of these jobs had very specific requirements imperative to their industry and the functionality of their workspaces. This is where Graft thrives—designing the perfect area for our clients and delivering high quality, functional, custom cabinetry that meets our clients individual needs. CUSTOM CABINETRY
Custom cabinetry is a great way to utilise space without compromising on style and functionality. You don’t always need a new house. HOSPITALITY
Hospitality is an industry that requires impressive but highly-functional fit-outs. Graft Joinery has been responsible for several high-end fit-outs for local Taupō restaurants and bars. These include Plateau, The Bistro, Piccolo, The Steak House and the Cellar Bar at the Terraces Hotel.
Hospitality is a challenge but the Graft team are experts at designing and manufacturing each and every client vision that comes through our doors. GRAFTY KIDS
When we embarked on the journey of Graft Joinery, we wanted to be able to serve a larger community, rather than just cabinetry for commercial fit outs and kitchens. What about the kids?! Being outside and developing skills are so important for our little people.
