Newell St, Renovation - Paul Walsh

"My renovation required the existing dwelling to be lifted on site then lowered onto a new sub floor before the extension work began. Overall the renovation was a huge undertaking and one that other building firms were apprehensive to undertake or were unrealistic with their quotes.

Haven Renovations handled this task with relative ease and were receptive to my wishes that any original fixtures and joinery be incorporated into the new build. Their keen eye for detail ensured that the elements of the old charm of the house flowed seamlessly with the new, creating a truly stunning visual experience.

Haven Renovations Managing Director, Ray Sale, suggested many ideas that complemented the overall project making this new structure come to life and be even more impressive than the architect’s original plans.

I am delighted with the end result, which is a home with grace and beauty and would have no hesitation in recommending Haven Renovations to my friends and family and any of their prospective clients" - Paul Walsh

Beach Haven Rd, Renovation - Richard & Nicole Stewart

"We enlisted the services of Ray Sale and his team at Haven Renovations to undertake a major renovation creating a large 5 bedroom home out of what was a 90sqm 2 bedroom house.  After what could only be described as a nightmare experience with another building company on our previous house the process of selecting a builder for what was going to be our dream house was not taken lightly.

After the initial meeting with Ray we were impressed with not only his professionalism in relation to his quote but also his ability to read into what this house was going to mean for our family of 6.  His attention to detail and 'nothing was a drama' approach meant we could carry on with our lives and know that he had our best interests and final vision in mind.

Ray always made himself readily available and openly communicated throughout the whole process alleviating any stress or unexpected issues.  During the process the whole team from Haven Renovations were professional and also understanding to the fact we were living in the house throughout the renovation and with 4 children had to maintain some kind of normal routines.

It is without doubt that if we chose to either build another house or undertake another renovation we would enlist the services of Ray Sale and his team" - Nicole Stewart

Castor Bay Stream House, New Build - Ben & Kylie Crawford

"I had worked with Ray and the Haven Renovations team during The Block NZ in 2012 and had seen first hand the quality of their workmanship and dedication to their craft. So when Kylie and I began to scope out the possibility of building our very own dream home it was a no-brainer for us to work with the Haven team.

We knew we had chosen a very challenging site to build on - there was a reason it had been on the market for more than 6 years! There was a stream running through the middle of the section meaning the whole site was in a 100-year flood plain, the section was horrendously overgrown and had limited access with steep banks on three sides.

But we had a vision to work with the land to make a unique home and from the very outset Ray and the team shared that vision with us and were excited to make it a reality, despite the difficulties.

Kylie and I wanted to explore pre-fabrication for a number of reasons and Ray worked with us to find the best solution, ultimately suggesting we look at structural insulated panels (SIPs) which is the construction method we ultimately chose, making our house the first in Auckland to be built this way. To me this progressive approach to building typifies the attitude of the Haven team. They enjoy being challenged, they want the best for their clients and they never leave a stone unturned to come up with the best possible solution for you.

Throughout the build the guys were great at communicating and regularly advising on budget progress. I couldn't keep away from site so was pretty hands on with what was happening, however I'm certain you would feel as equally in the loop if you weren't on-site as regularly as I was. And whenever a problem arose (luckily there weren't many) the guys provided proactive solutions and options which was brilliant.

The proof of what the Haven team can do really is in the home that they built for us. The guys attention to detail and finishing is immaculate and they never settled for second best. It is utterly spectacular and truly is our dream home. We will be here for many, many years and can't wait to start raising a family in our home.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Haven Renovations to anyone that is considering to build their own home or renovate their existing one. Trust is a huge factor when it comes to choosing a builder and I trust the Haven guys 100%. Kylie and I consider them all friends and while it was a happy day when we moved in, it was also sad to see the guys leave." - Ben Crawford
