Hurley Design and Build were recommended to us by a family for whom Luke and the team had recently completed a renovation. We visited their house and were impressed with the quality of the work and that they delivered on time and to budget.

We were also impressed by the team’s thoroughness and attention to detail in the tender process, it was a reflection of their approach to work in general. The price they quoted was fair, and from beginning to end we were so happy with our decision to go with them.

Their point of difference is having the three partners in the business, Luke, Matthias and Ashley, on the tools all the time. Having the owners of the business working on the house day in and day out ensured we got the highest quality product in the end.

Luke and the team were easy to work with when design and construction issues arose, they were always on the front foot, anticipating any problems and bringing them to our attention early so they could be dealt with in the best possible way.

The team also came up with new ideas and made design changes that enhanced the end product. We were grateful that they were thinking ahead and had the aesthetic we were after in mind at all times.

Our neighbours commented that not only was this the most productive site they’d ever seen, with a smooth stream of activity but that the team and their trades were much more polite and respectful than the other builders working in the street at the time.

Luke and his team undertook a 10-month renovation of our old house (including new additions) a few years ago. They were reliable, punctual, respectful, honest and hardworking. The work they did has stood the test of time and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

HURLEY DESIGN AND BUILD renovated a 9 bedroom investment property of mine that was in pretty original condition but very run down and divided into 4 separate flats. Luke updated all kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, electrical, roofing and foundations, paintwork, doors, stained glass, staircases, fretwork…even landscaping, It was a massive job over about 5 months but absolutely stress-free (for me!) because hiring Luke and his team. Luke is extremely organised and structured and communicative which made my decision-making so much easier, and he and his entire team had so much passion and care for all the building and restoration that they do. There were no shortcuts taken – just excellent building work and attention to detail. The property was over 100 years old, and now looks absolutely immaculate thanks to HDB.

Luke and his team are highly skilled, professional and reliable builders. We have engaged them on two renovations and both were completed on time, on budget and with additional ideas and solutions that neither I nor our architect had even considered. Both of our houses were federation brick properties with a lot of detail and a reasonably tight timeframe. I have zero hesitation recommending Luke to anyone contemplating building a new house from scratch, renovating a couple of bathrooms and kitchen, to the largest or smallest project. He can do it all – and any contractors he bought into the job were excellent also. He is so easy to work with and I couldn’t be happier with the process and result.

You were great to work with and really understood my needs, striving to create a place as if it were your own. I only had an architect for the development and submission of the plans and DA, and after that didn't require him again, as you were able to undertake all the work required. Also, your budgeting allowed me to stay on track, including any changes and modifications that we came across during the building process. You also finished on time, despite doing extra work that arose. Your suggestions for new ideas also helped greatly with the final result. I would recommend you like builders to anyone, and only wish I had more projects to undertake with you!
