The Design Process

When should I hire an Interior Designer?

When considering a renovation or wanting to transform a space. If you are building a new home. If you need styling advice, colour advice, wanting to purchase some new furniture items or to have new window treatments installed.

What experience do you have?

Lucy has worked in the industry for 12 years. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies, specialising in Interior Design. Lucy's qualifications give her a more Architectural approach when designing.

Can an Interior Designer buy more than I can?

We can access a large range of products that may not be available within the retail market. This ensures your project is something very unique. It also means you get special discounts on most items purchased.

How far would you travel for a project?

We are interested in any projects you may have within NZ. If your project is overseas we are still interested in chatting to you to see how we might be of service. 

What should I do before I contact a designer?

Have a reasonable idea of the project budget. Anything is possible however we need to work together to make sure the design solution fits within what you want to spend. Get inspired. Collect any inspirational images, Pinterest is a great tool. You don’t need to be sure about what you want. Arriving at a solution and discovering what you like or dislike along the way is part of the process.

What happens at the first consultation?

Depending on the type and stage of the project we will meet either on-site, in your home or at a cafe and discuss your requirements. Bring your plans along and any inspiration you have collected.

What types of projects can you do?

We specialise in Architecturally designed new builds. Residential and commercial projects. we specify plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, tiles, door hardware, kitchen materials, paint specification, wallpaper, furniture, spatial planning, upholstery and window treatments. we create custom products including pendant lighting, bedheads, hearth detailing and joinery. we also undertake renovations, styling and window treatments.

If I am building what stage is it best to start working with an Interior Designer?

We like to get on board as early as possible. Around the time your plans are being issued for consent. This way we can work in collaboration with yourself, the architect and the builder.

Can you integrate my favourite pieces of furniture or accessories into the design?

Yes. If you have sentimental items then let us know in the early stages and we can make sure we fit them into the overall design. We believe a home should be a reflection of the people who live there so your favourite items are important to us.
