Gerard Metal Tiles

Metal Tiles are ideal for any style of home in absolutely any location. We have a variety of metal roofing tile profiles, shapes, styles and textures to ensure you get the perfect match to your home and its surroundings. A minimum roofing pitch is required to install metal tiles so they are suitable for almost every type of roof.

Re-Roofing

We have a large range of roofing styles and products available that are suitable for our environmental conditions here on the Coromandel Peninsula. We can arrange to replace or install new insulation materials.

Sheet Metal Fabrication

We manufacture our own custom made sheet metal flashings right here in Whitianga and orders can usually be processed the same day we receive them or within 24 hours, allowing us to speed up the installation time, reduce the cost of freight and the chance of freight damage.

Scaffolding

At Peninsula Roofing & Scaffolding we offer a variety of scaffolding systems to assist your project including the traditional tube and clip system, Layher system and the ‘H’ frame (timber planks) systems which gives us the ability to undertake any job. We also offer floor propping, temporary seating and grandstand solutions. 

Shrink Wrap & Layher Keder Roof (PVC Sheet Tarpaulin) System

When you are looking for a solution to keep your work site dry – wrapping could just be the answer. 

While the initial cost might seem high, the time saving and ability to keep the internal areas of your structure dry and protected, soon out weigh the costs associated with the erection of the Layher Keder Roof System (PVC sheet Tarpaulins) or shrink wrapping.  

In some cases, both systems are used together to fully encapsulate a build. 

The Layher Keder Roof System, is constructed from lightweight aluminium and is a robust, portable and temporary weather protection system which can be used in residential, commercial and eventing projects.

With the option of constructing a mono or double pitched roof, we can span up to 18m wide and 24m deep. The PVC roof and wall tarpaulins are then inserted safely (by being pulled through a track) and removes the need for us to work on top of the structure. These roof and wall tarpaulins are environmentally friendly, as they are reusable and reduce the need for 'single-use' shrink wrap plastic sheeting.

As is the legal requirement, all our Keder Roof and shrink wrap jobs are designed and engineered by the expert team at Layher NZ to ensure the structure is safe and will tolerate the extreme weather conditions that we often experience here on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Staging for Hire

The Layher Keder Roof System, constructed from lightweight aluminium, is a robust, temporary weather protection system for a variety of eventing options. Incorporated with the Layher Keder Roof System addition, we have also invested in a Layher Staging System which we can erect in modules of 2.5m x 2m up to a total stage area of 240m².

We have relationships with many suppliers, meaning you have a selection of products available to you. Our aim is to find the right product to suit your needs. What’s important? Obviously water tightness but also the finished look, colour, texture, shape, maintenance requirements and under what environment (i.e. winter/summer) are we needing to install the waterproofing membrane in? These are all the things you need to consider when making a decision on waterproofing your project.

Safety Nets For Hire

We’ve added Safety Nets to our working safely at heights solutions and this timely addition enables us to meet both our customers and staff requirements under the revised The Health and Safety in Employment Act (HSE Act) 1992 which requires that all practicable steps must be taken onsite to prevent a person at work from being harmed. A "safe working at height" solution, safety nets are installed below a high level work area, reducing the distance a person can fall. Safety nets are designed to deflect and absorb the energy of a fall so they reduce the likelihood of a person being injured. Safety nets allow people to work at height without restricting their movement.

We offer both metal and PVC spouting in a variety of profiles and colours. In addition to this our spouting is often a thicker gauge than many other companies and we can offer a solution to stop your spouting from becoming blocked by leaves and debris. COLORSTEEL® Spouting

Similar to our COLORSTEEL® roofing range we also offer a variety of COLORSTEEL® spouting profiles and colours to match your roof. There are 29 standard colours within the COLORSTEEL® colour range. 

PVC/Plastic Spouting

PVC/Plastic spouting and downpipes are a standard product that has been available in NZ for many years. When choosing PVC/Plastic spouting you have 4 different profiles available all in white. PVC/Plastic spouting can be painted, however you need to be careful painting them as it can create other issues regarding expansion and contraction.

Peninsula Roofing & Scaffolding are LICENCED BUILDING PRACTITIONER (LBPs) CERTIFIED

The Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP) scheme has been established to recognise competent, skilled building practitioners; which is a key component for the success of many initiatives being investigated as part of the Building Act Review.

From 1st March 2012 it became an offence (with a fine of up to $20,000) for a building practitioner eg – roofer, to carry out Restricted Building work unless they or someone supervising their work is appropriately licenced.

At Peninsula Roofing & Scaffolding we have embraced the LBP scheme. Our commitment to on-going training has enabled all our roofers to be licenced as qualified practitioners. They hold an NZQA Level 4 National Certificate in Roofing covering the following areas:

Liquid Membrane Roof

The LBP scheme requires licence holders to renew their licence every two (2) years. Our roofers are required to undertake on-going training and keep up to date with industry changes and regulations. While doing this, they obtain points which they are required to submit when they renew their licence.
