Riversdale Joinery

About

Riversdale Joinery LTD was formed in 1998 after previously trading as Williams and Kay Builders and joiners. This move was to concentrate on the production of joinery only and to supply to more building contractors in the area. Don Williams and Barry O'Connor became partners in the business up until 7 years ago when Barry brought Don out so he could enjoy retirement.

The business covers the eastern and northern Southland area mainly, but also stretches into the very busy Central Otago area. Kitchen joinery is our main focus, with many of them being quite substantial in size for large farming families in rural Southland. We also manufacture vanity units, office furniture, push in wardrobe systems, prehung doors and stairs. We have good stocks of air-dried native timbers which we manufacture doors and windows out to the 4211 standards, this is a good side to the business as wooden windows seem to become popular again. We also machine timber to size and profile as required by building contractors. We have 4 staff in the processing side and 1 in administration, we use CNC technology for production purposes and the designing and drawing of kitchens. We have a very loyal client base in our area and do a lot of repeat work for them. With being in the joinery industry for 40 years now I have seen many changes in my time, now finding clients are focusing on higher-spec products and finishes.nn
