RESIDENTIAL

New Home Architecture
The process of knocking down the old and building the new is an exciting though complex one. From Sketch Design through to Development Application, there are a lot of aspects, wants, requirements and needs to contend with. With ample experience, Roth skillfully manages the often overwhelming development with ease, utilising the knowledge of our experience Director and his long involvement with many of the Council bodies throughout Sydney and NSW.

We have completed knockdown rebuilds in many suburbs across the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney including Freshwater, Northbridge and Coogee.

Terrace Architecture
The Roth studio is no stranger to Terrace Architecture, being surrounded by streets and lanes of terraces and cottages ranging from big and small. Having completed a series of Paddington and Woollahra based terraces, Alex Roth has refined and perfected the important balance of new and old and continues to provide seamless solutions that cater specifically to the house and the site.

A tricky mix of regulations and historical integrity, Roth concocts the best possible outcome suited to not only the council and client needs but to the needs of the site itself.

Apartment Architecture
The existing stigma that an apartment doesn't have the potential to be a beautiful and ample space is one that Roth strives to diminish. Through clever techniques and tailored joinery, Roth creates functional and aesthetically refined homes for the every changing landscape of apartment living. Whether it be a place for yourself to live, for your family to live or for investment purposes, designing a liveable and enjoying space is of utmost importance for projects of this kin because no matter the size, it is Roth Architectures belief that there is always an opportunity for a bespoke luxury outcome when you tailor the process to what suits the existing space and client best.

Heritage Architecture
While we are continually striving for the design excellence of the tomorrow, the foundations of the architecture of the past play an important role throughout any project. That is why, when we are given the brief of working with a historical site we don’t ignore its origins. We see what others see as constraints, and envision them as opportunities for the intersection of modern and classical.

With heritage-listed sites comes a list of council restrictions and requirements, something of which Alex Roth and the Roth team have a library of knowledge about and have employed throughout all of our projects.

Interior Design
It is a firm Roth belief that interior design and architecture are constantly intertwined. When beginning the first stages of conception, through construction and completion, Roth maintains a keen awareness of how the spaces will look and feel when filled with pieces of furniture and traces of the family who inhabit them.

Working closely with the client, Roth ensures that each and every job receives the bespoke treatment and is presented with an outcome that is finely tuned to suit the personality of the building and the personality of the inhabitant.

Landscape Design
A great design is only created when the exterior is considered as closely as the interior and the shell. With society, and Australia especially, becoming increasingly submerged in the want of nature, landscaping is becoming an integral aspect of any home or space.

Roth Architecture works closely with the best in Sydney to create an outdoor space that engages and enhances the building it's surrounding. By focusing and cultivating a bespoke landscape design, the entire project is elevated creating the perfect environment for the client’s lifestyle to be at its healthiest and happiest.

A lateral design approach
The way in which you begin impacts the way you end. The design of a building requires consideration across many variables, opportunities and constraints. As an idea develops, so must an understanding of its feasibility, including a budget, statutory controls and site context, amongst other things.

We will listen to you, and draw out your explicit (and implicit) requirements whilst at the same time having an objective, independent and lateral design approach.

Invaluable professional advice
We offer a service that suits you and your project best and one that you feel most comfortable with while ensuring that you are presented with designs that provide you with an understanding of what your project could be.

Our strategic approach often means you will achieve a design that you didn’t think was possible, or someone else has told you it was impossible, a trait that can be seen continually throughout our portfolio of work.

Moving through you will have a thorough understanding of your property and its development potential, whether that be the best solution for creating your family home from scratch, improving the connection to your back yard and obtaining car parking, or improving the layout of your kitchen.

Besides providing you with the most carefully considered and experienced architecture advice, it is important to us as a studio that the client gains understanding and comes away with a bank of knowledge they didn’t have before.

Roth Architects create award winning projects which have been recognised both nationally and internationally in recent years. As a firm, it is our goal to create good design up to the standards set and recognised in the field and by our peers.
