About us
Sandalwood Design is a boutique owner operated interior design business offering a personalised service for every one and every need, from one cushion, to a room, to a whole house.
Whether you rent or own your property, the home you return to everyday should reflect your taste, your ideals and who you are. Personalising your space with your flavour of decorating is vitally important so you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and happy when you're in your home. That's where our expertise and passion for interior design becomes invaluable. We help create the right ambience you want surrounding you.
All decorating starts with a colour scheme and an idea of what makes you comfortable. This includes every aspect of decor from your walls, to your floors, to the furniture accented with accessories and finalised with various kinds of artwork.
Having us as your interior design specialist makes your decorating experience fun and stress free. We talk through the options, helping you identify what feels best for you and your family. Forging close relationships with you to build trust is vital, as it gives you the confidence in the process and allows us to do what we do best - deliver your dream home. Each job is tailored according to the specific needs and personal style of each client.
From designing bespoke pieces of furniture, to selecting colour palettes, wall coverings, flooring or window treatments, to deciding on furniture placement, for a single room or a whole house we work alongside you to create interesting, stylish and inspiring spaces you will love to call home - all within your budget and timeframe.
FIONA RENTON
FIONA RENTON, Director Dip int Des
From the moment I started training and honing my craft, it felt like I had "arrived": finally I'd found what made me tick.
Proud to continue the company's 35 year legacy in Christchurch, I brought Sandalwood Design ten years ago and I've never looked back.
I pour my passion into my work, every project is so unique, I love the diversity that each job offers. This is what drives me day in and day out, keeping things fresh and interesting - not only for myself but also my clients.
Designing interiors is like telling a story, the story of the inhabitants. And, like any good story, it ought to convey the owners' personalities. Listening carefully to your wants and needs is the key to success. After all, I'm just a visitor in your home, you have it for life.
My home and family are also very important to me. I have a gorgeous husband Al (who is also a fantastic helping hand to the business), two beautiful daughters and a darling grandson.
Get in touch and let us create that unique, beautiful style that makes your interior design dream come true. We are hardworking and dedicated to providing a high quality service. We know you'll love the results.
