About us
Shade Elements is New Zealand-owned and operated.
That’s important, because it means we understand what conditions are like in this beautiful country. Strong sun and UV can give way to wind and rain without warning, so it’s vital to have well-designed shading systems that can cope with whatever nature throws at them.
Our screens, awnings and pergolas are assembled in our own factory, in Auckland’s Penrose. We source world-leading products from around the globe to bring you the best in contemporary design.
We’re all about creating versatile spaces for outdoor living – just the way Kiwis like it. We work with architects, designers and a network of quality fabricators and installers who deal direct with private homeowners and commercial operators, such as cafés and restaurants, to add value to their buildings and help craft stunning living spaces.
Fabric Collection
Docril Fabric
Designed and manufactured in Spain and known for its superb quality with an extensive colour palette. Docril offers an impressive selection of 132 vibrant colours to suit any décor and comes with a 10 year UV warranty.
Serge Ferrari Soltis
Indoor and outdoor solar protection - A wide range of options are available to meet every shading and cooling need, from view-thru to privacy, waterproof to airflow, and light filtration to blackout. Soltis mesh fabrics may be used both indoors or out (indoor blinds, exterior screens, tensile shades) for easy coordination. Awning and pergola covers may be smooth and colourful, or in neutral colours with a natural effect. And, no matter the application, Soltis fabrics are built to last, providing excellent UV, water, mould, and fading resistance, so they look as beautiful in future years as they do today.
Shadeview Mesh
Shadeview fabric cleverly diffuses light, lends a pared-back finish and optimises views but it still protects you and your home from the elements. Available in different weave options with 25 colours across the range. It has a high-shade factor, blocking up to 97 percent of the sun’s rays, reducing the temperature inside your home, and decreasing your energy costs.
PVC
We source our PVC from Japan, where it is designed and manufactured by a company committed to excellence and innovation. It’s the best solution when a completely see-through solution and unobstructed view is required, and it provides full wind and rain protection for your space. Choose from clear or tinted. Please note PVC is only available on our Ziptrak® and Café Screen products.

Automation Options
Wireless Remotes
With discreet, high-end technology, operation of our products is safe, reliable and ideal for hard-to-reach windows, or people who may find manual operation difficult. Multiple awnings or screens can be operated individually or in unison via a remote control.
Sensors
Sensors can be added to retract awnings, screens and pergola's during extreme weather conditions, keeping them safe from damage. Integration into a home automation system is also possible and an increasingly popular option. Manage all your awning products from a handy phone app or remote control.
