SLD Projects was founded by Simon La Delfa in 2002. With over 20 years in the building trade, Simon began the business in the hope to create homes that bring people together, and even more - to be a company that wouldn’t shy away from complicated or difficult projects to help achieve this vision.

Simon started his construction career as a carpenter, which has provided him with a robust understanding of how the building process works. He brings his years of hands-on experience working with the tools of the trade to each home he builds at SLD Projects.

Simon also has many years of experience working as a site manager, supervising high-end residential projects valued up to $5 million. This means that every project by SLD Projects is managed with care, expertise and exceptional organisation. Beyond this experience, Simon holds an unrestricted building license which allows the company to undertake and construct complex projects. SLD Projects is also proud to be a member of the Master Builders Association of New South Wales, where all members adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics. We also value transparency. We are very communicative during a build and encourage our clients to participate in regular site visits. We also provide our clients with an easy and accessible way to check in on the progress of their build through an online client portal where photos, videos and other construction details demonstrate the progression of the build.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT

RENOVATIONS AND EXTENSIONS
We’re passionate about transformation. KNOCKDOWN REBUILD
If you’re looking to start fresh with a new custom home, but don’t want to leave your much-loved neighbourhood, a knockdown rebuild may be the right option for you. We can help you craft the perfect entertainment home to suit you and your family’s lifestyles, without forcing you to start fresh in a new suburb.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Our Director Simon has a background as a project manager, which means he’s well-equipped to manage your building project and ensure every step is carried out seamlessly. We’ll monitor your project, making sure every tradesperson is doing what they should be and that everything is running to schedule. Having us as your project management team means your luxury Sydney home is more likely to be completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

We’ll always break down the process, step by step, and meet with you in person to ensure you fully understand what will happen when. This allows us to create a truly bespoke entertainment home for you and your family.

WE MEET
We’ll meet with you to discuss the details and ideas of your building project. At this complimentary assessment, we’ll ask you what type of building project you’re looking to undertake and explain our building process to you.

CONCEPT DESIGN AND ESTIMATE
If you’re engaging us for design and construct, we’ll work closely with our architecture and design team to work through the finer details of design. This would include floor plans, building elevations and a building cost estimate to ensure that the cost of construction lines up with your budget. However, if you already have plans drawn up, we can liaise with your chosen architect to ensure your design is realised exactly as you imagined.

PLANNING AND PROPOSAL
Once you’re happy with the design, then we’re ready to provide a detailed building proposal. This is not a simple one-page summary, but a detailed document breaking down all costs associated with your build, so you know exactly where your budget has been allocated.

WE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO COUNCIL OR CERTIFIER
We’ll submit a council application for development approval and a construction certificate. We will need to lodge all proposed planning and design documents to achieve approval from the local council.

CONSTRUCTION PLANS AND SELECTIONS FINALISED
Once the council has approved all work, we’ll organise a meeting to chat through the finalised construction plans, all selections and inclusions and any other documentation required for the Construction Certificate.

CONTRACT IS ORGANISED AND SIGNED
We’ll prepare a standard MBA contract for you to review and sign. We will also and determine a start date and provide a detailed building schedule.

Once you are happy and clear on the details, it’s time to sign on the dotted line.

CONSTRUCTION COMMENCES
We build your home! We’ll organise plenty of on-site visits throughout the build so you can see how the project is shaping up along the way. We’ll also organise all site inspections required for certification.

ONLINE PORTAL UPDATED REGULARLY
Throughout your build, we’ll keep you updated through our state-of-the-art online portal, which provides you with photos, videos and other progress reports. We’ll also store all important project information here so you can refer back to all documents at any time.

INSPECTION AND HANDOVER
Once construction is complete, and everything has been checked off by our team, you’ll get the keys to your bespoke new home.

START LIVING IN YOUR NEW ENTERTAINMENT HOME
Time to invite friends and family over for a party in your new entertainment home! While we’ll leave you to enjoy your space, we’ll check-in for a chat and make sure everything is still perfect in your home.

No, having a block before you talk to us is not necessary. If you would like advice regarding the type of block to look for to build what you wish to, we can certainly help.

CAN YOU GIVE US A BALLPARK FIGURE OF WHAT OUR HOME WILL COST?
Pricing depends on a number of factors including the size of your home and the quality of materials used. Once we have some plans to work with and meet with you to discuss your ideas, we can price a build for you.

CAN YOU GIVE US A BREAKDOWN OF YOUR COSTS?
Yes, we will provide a breakdown of costs and work with you to ensure you get your dream home delivered within budget as far as possible.

WHAT IF YOU QUOTE THE JOB AND IT’S OUTSIDE OUR BUDGET?
We will always discuss the budget with you at the outset, so we are not wasting time designing something that is not right for you. The structure cost that we outline at the start won’t change too much, however, your choices of finishes can impact your budget. For this reason, we will do our best to discuss different options with you to create a home you love within your budget.

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED IN BUILDING LARGE ARCHITECTURALLY DESIGNED HOMES?
We have built a variety of homes including large architecturally designed homes. You can rest assured that owner Simon La Delfa will personally oversee your project so that it runs smoothly.

WHERE DO YOU BUILD?
We have built homes all over Sydney so wherever you are situated we can accommodate you.

HOW CAN YOU MANAGE SUCH LARGE PROJECTS EFFICIENTLY?
We are different to builders that have display homes and construct very similar homes to those on display. We only take on a limited and selected number of projects to ensure that every build is completed to the highest quality. Our commitment to taking on projects that align with our company’s values also goes a long way to ensuring efficiency.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BUILD MY HOME?
This depends on the size and complexity of your home design. We will endeavour to give you an accurate estimate before we start the project. Of course, factors like the weather are out of our control and must be factored in. But we will always move the project along at an expected pace, not compromising on the quality of workmanship.

ARE WE ABLE TO SEE PAST PROJECTS?
Yes, you can visit our portfolio page on the website to view some of our past projects. You can also read testimonials from past clients. We can also arrange visits to previous jobs so that you can see our projects up close for yourself. This is possible because we pride ourselves on maintaining close relationships with our past clients.
