We are SMBC, a respected construction company based in Canterbury. With over 15 years’ building experience from Canterbury to Central Otago, our reputation is solid. Our team of professionals are here to support your project from the planning stages right through to completion. Having an on-site project manager ensures a seamless experience and a direct point of contact for all parties. We are members of the New Zealand Master Builder Association and a NZ Licensed Building Practitioner

We work to your budget, your needs and a realistic timeframe. As a boutique company, we have strong relationships with our subtrades, designers and planners and we employ our own carpenters. Construct
As a Registered Master Builder, we stand by our work. We include a complimentary 10 year Classic RMB Guarantee on all new residential build contracts. A sound investment for such a major asset. Our projects run to a detailed timeline to track the build and manage subtrades. A designated SMBC project manager works with subtrades to ensure the building brief is maintained and that the project is run efficiently, and they are always available to discuss any client requirements. Client meetings and liaison is an important part of the process as this ensures an efficient project and keeps the client informed by letting them be part of the build process. We pride ourselves on our quality workmanship. Something we put down to the fact that we employ our own carpenters and they are all key members of our team.
Renovate
A proven way to restyle and modernise a home is to embark on a renovation project. Over the past five years we have successfully completed many repair and renovation projects in the Canterbury area. We work closely with our clients to achieve project goals and our quality workmanship brings the best of your property to fruition.

Landscaping is almost as important as the house design and a critical element in linking indoor and outside spaces. When preparing the project budget, landscaping is an important component to consider and plan for. We recommend incorporating decks, paths and pergolas into the initial project brief as this will help lead to savings in the long-term. We have worked with many clients and landscape architects on design solutions to complement the build and work within a budget.
