At SMJ, we understand how important getting your design ‘just right’ can be. That is why we have developed our DESIGN SERVICE to give you the peace of mind that with a little hard work and thought up front, your dream really can come alive with the minimum of fuss.

SMJ is proud to be a member of the Registered Master Joiners Association. We have won the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Regional award for ‘Best Kitchen’ and regularly feature as a finalist at the Master Joiners annual awards.

We are also a member of the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association. Stu is on the National Advisory Group committee, working with the BCITO (building /construction industry training organisation) for the future pathways in Kitchen and Bathroom Design qualifications.

Stu is also a member of the Certified Designers Society. 

Over the years Stu Martin Joinery has formed strong relationships with experienced local contractors, so we can recommend and organise builders, electricians and plumbers to help with the installation process.

That’s why we have developed our design and quotation service to give you the peace of mind – with a bit of hard work and thought up front, your dream will really come to life.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

If you’re building a new home, make a time to come and visit us at our showroom with a set of your plans. If you’re renovating your existing home, we’ll confirm an appointment to meet you at your home to get an understanding and feel of the space we’ll be working with. We look closely at all your ideas, wants and needs during the consultation before creating a concept drawing.

CONCEPT DRAWINGS

On the completion of your concept drawing, we’ll contact you to make an appointment to go over your design. This where we really drill down to the little details. We discuss any changes you might want to make and answer any other questions you have. We can also indicate a price range for you.

REFINING & QUOTING

When everything’s just right and we’ve finalised the design of your project, we’ll meet with you to discuss the detailed quotation and costs.

CONFIRMATION

When everything’s confirmed, and we’ve received a deposit, we’ll host you in our showroom to go through the detailed plans and quote and tweak any last-minute details. If you’re not quite ready to proceed, but would like a full set of detailed plans, then an initial fee of $400 is payable for these. Any further changes to your plans after the fine tuning will be charged out at an hourly rate.

THE BUILD BEGINS!

You get to see your vision come to life. To ensure our designs are always accurately represented, we produce, manufacture and install our own joinery. We’ll be on site ensuring everything goes smoothly. And when it’s all finished, it doesn’t end there – the aftercare of your kitchen or joinery project is very important to us.
