The Timber Room
Kitchen & Bathroom Designers
About us
Through fresh ideas and innovation, we offer quality kitchens and joinery solutions that combine aesthetics, practicality and top quality workmanship.
Don’t be misled by the name, timber represents not just a material but a view that every job is unique.
Customer satisfaction and product longevity are two of our core focuses. We use quality products, and our manufacturing methods ensure our products are built to last. We aim to design a space that meets the realities of your own life, whilst surpassing aesthetic and quality expectations.
We are small enough to work with our clients one on one throughout the whole process but large enough to achieve outstanding results in creating large scale projects. You will deal with the same person, from start to finish, giving you peace of mind knowing your new space is in safe hands.
Whether it is working with architects and top builders, or designing your new space from scratch, we create top of the range kitchens, using the latest products on the market.
We also cater to other joinery requirements and can offer the most exciting and reliable solutions to any design specifications. These include vanities, wardrobes, slat walls, and interior panelling.
Kitchen & Joinery Design
We design your space starting from scratch, with a phone call or email being the first step. After we have established a brief outline of what you require, we will book you in for a consultation at our Pukete showroom with our designer & director Jeremy. A plan of the space will need to be sent prior to the consultation.
At the consultation, we will discuss your brief in as much detail as we can. This will help us to get a clear idea of what direction we should be heading in with the design of your kitchen or joinery project. Any requirements regarding aesthetics, functionality, and budget will be discussed alongside timeline and scheduling.
From this, we can gather ideas to start to put together a concept and quote for you. Generally, this can take between 1-2 weeks but can vary from project to project. A high-quality render will be sent to you, along with a quote and a detailed description of the concept.
Once the initial concept and quote have been sent out, discussions can take place with regard to any changes required to the initial design. Any further designs will incur a cost. When we have confirmed a concept, we will work with you to finalise materials and hardware.
From here, a timeline can be established for install and completion of your new kitchen or joinery project.
Kitchen Manufacturing
Our kitchen manufacturing process involves the manufacturing of both our kitchen and joinery projects on site in Hamilton. We are proud to be able to produce our work in house, this results in a quality product with a handmade touch. The manufacturing process takes around 6-8 weeks from agreement on the design. We will communicate with you throughout the process and keep you up to date with progress and forecasted install dates. We only work with top quality products and take pride in sourcing the latest in materials and hardware.
WHAT WE WORK WITH:
Acrylics
These products are generally used for drawer fronts and panels. Available in high gloss or super matte finishes, these come in a range of colours and boast the latest technology in decorative panels.
Veneers
Used for a range of joinery applications including kitchens, vanities and wall panelling. Veneers have become a speciality and are a natural product that offers a combination of warmth and the beauty of real timber. Our veneers are FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council).
Metals
Keeping up with emerging trends means coming up with new ideas and ways of utilising different materials. Metals such as brass, steel and copper have been making a statement in the kitchen and interiors industry recently, and we can use these to create splashbacks, panelling, cabinetry and more.
Solid Timber
We can machine solid timber for use in various joinery components including benchtops, shelving, and detailing
Kitchen Installation
We are proud to install all of our own work and have done since the beginning. This gives you peace of mind, knowing the same team who designed and manufactured your kitchen, are now doing your kitchen installation with the greatest of care.
We communicate with your builders, electricians, plumbers and any tradespeople involved in your project to ensure a seamless install. Our team is trained and experienced in this area, and are experts at what they do!
Our Team
Jeremy
Director/Designer
Jeremy is the founder of The Timber Room and designs all of our projects alongside leading the team. Jeremy started out in the marine industry, and now has over 10 years experience in both the marine and joinery industries under his belt. If he isn’t working, you’ll find him on the golf course or renovating his and Cath’s home.
Jax
Cabinet maker/Joiner
Jax is one of the friendly faces you’ll see assembling and installing our kitchens. If someone is singing in the workshop, it is highly likely that it’s Jax! If he isn’t working you’ll find him riding his bike.
Rob
Cabinet maker/Joiner
Rob has come to the Timber Room all the way from Texas and is a talented joiner. He is part of the team assembling and installing our projects. If he isn’t working you’ll find him playing American football and exploring new parts of NZ.
Cath
Accounts/Admin
Cath takes care of accounts, administration, and payroll. Being Jeremy’s wife, she has been with the business from the beginning! If she isn’t working, Cath will be knee-deep in flowers (floristry is her other love!) and enjoying a glass of Pinot Gris.
Henry
Full-time napper/snacker
Henry is the resident office dog. Very keen to say hello to anyone who walks in the door, and if he isn’t doing that, you will find him dozing in the sun.
