Testimonials

Rogues of Rotherham is indeed a unique place. It has given an old building a new lease of life. The attention to detail and quality is obvious, and is a testament to the architects, designers, Jeremy Smith and The Woodsmith team, whose “main focus is on top workmanship and integrity”. The company specialises in high profile fit-outs, and Rogues is a beautiful example. With ample use of oak and ash timber throughout, the vintage pendant lighting, the brass footrest and other high quality brass and copper fittings creating a continuity that highlights the perfectionism that is a hallmark of Smith’s professional team.

The compliments just haven't stopped since Jeremy and his team completed the extension on our house. The team were fantastic to deal with throughout the project.  The high quality professional finish is a direct result of Jeremy and his teams attention to detail.  We really can't recommend Jeremy highly enough.

From the first meeting with Jeremy we were impressed by his friendly and helpful manner, which carried on throughout the project and other works we engaged him in.
We received prices back promptly and everything was clearly explained (progress payments etc) with no loopholes and no “extras” added at the final stages.
Jeremy organised all the subcontractors on site and ensured their work was of high quality and that we were happy with the results.
His own work on site was done quickly and competently with good planning and great communication throughout, informing us of the various stages he was up to and updating completion dates all the time, he actually finished ahead of schedule -so we were very happy.
Our home was left in a tidy state every night and we felt comfortable with Jeremy and his workers being in our house with our family.
The end result was a pleasing experience in dealing with Jeremy and will happily recommend and use him again.

We recently had a highly- spec'd architecturally designed townhouse built by Jeremy and his team from The Woodsmith Ltd.
As this was the first time we had built we were pleased to find it was an exciting and enjoyable experience.  We found the whole Woodsmith team easy to work with. Jeremy was always happy to listen to new suggestions and tolerant of little changes we made. The building site was always neat and tidy at the end of every day which we really appreciated.
There are quite a few unique architectural features in our home, not least of which is a suspended wooden staircase.  The Woodsmith team really showed they were on point and did an amazing job. We were super impressed with their ability to work through everything thoroughly and systematically with a fantastic end result. As an Interior Designer, I personally take a great interest in the detailing and finishing of a house.  In this case, it was superb, something for which, I think, they should get full marks.
We are thrilled with our house and would not hesitate in recommending Jeremy and his guys to anyone considering employing them. You will get a thorough, professional job, from a very likeable team of guys.

We had Jeremy Smith, who owns The Woodsmith builders, and his wonderful team, do our recent renovation and we can't speak highly enough of him and his staff. What stood out was Jeremy's huge integrity (which is probably the most important thing when you are dealing with someone every day about your biggest asset and important family place - your home) and his positive can-do attitude. This applied to his team too. They were great to have around, very approachable and just generally nice, good, honest Kiwi blokes. I also appreciated that they didn't smoke or swear around our house, I always felt comfortable around them. They kept a tidy job site, something our friends always remarked on when they visited. Nothing was ever a problem and their professionalism and workmanship was top notch.
Jeremy organised all the subcontractors on site and always ensured we were happy with the results.
There was excellent communication throughout, with weekly meetings and the job was finished on time.
Due to his nature, we felt totally comfortable from the start with trusting Jeremy 100 per cent, we always felt he had our best interests at heart and feel so lucky to have found The Woodsmith.
We will probably be his customers for life for anything we want to do in future!

Jeremy is the type of builder that you dream of. Even before the renovation of our 100 year old villa actually began, Jeremy thoroughly knew the plans in detail and already had solutions on how to fix issues with parts of the old house that we had thought might be too difficult. Throughout the building process Jeremy was a great communicator, transparent, and trustworthy. He was so respectful and understanding of the quirks of an old Villa, and nothing was ever a problem. We couldn’t have imagined a more reliable building team. We are thrilled with the renovation.

I purchased bare land in June 2017. I commissioned Evan Mayo of Architecture Bureau to design a 230sqm single level three bedroom, two bathroom, plus office and snug dwelling. It was decided that we would build the house in two stages with separate contracts. One for the excavations and foundation slab and one for the build above the slab.
I am so pleased that Jeremy Smith of The Woodsmith won both contracts as my experience has been nothing short of total satisfaction.
The land here is TC3 and so extensive foundations were required. We commissioned Fabio Parodi of the Cresco Group to design the foundations and he designed them using the Armadillo method that he has developed. It is relatively new and innovative but Jeremy has had prior experience with it. There are over 91 cubic metres of concrete in the foundations and there were no issues involved with either design, consent, or build. A problem did arise, not of Jeremy’s making and being the professional he is, Jeremy took ownership of this hiccup and it was fixed. The foundations were completed on time and for the quoted price. Fabio ticked off all the engineering boxes.
The above slab build was scheduled to take 20 weeks and in spite of some delays because of inclement weather, this was completed on time and for the quoted price. There were no issues of any significance concerning the builders, or any subcontractors. This I am sure was due to Jeremy only employing professional “subbies”. This is what you should expect when you employ professionals and it is what I received.
I had heard lots of horror stories about building and I was apprehensive. There were issues, of course, but they were resolved by Jeremy and Evan in conjunction with the relevant subbies. At no time was there any issue on standard of workmanship and the build was completed as per the schedule and to the quoted price.
I have no hesitation in recommending Jeremy Smith and his team at The Woodsmith.
