About us

Home is not about material things and a shelter, it’s about a feeling of identity and belonging — that is where your heart is.

Twin Rivers Interiors is a European influenced boutique and artisan interior design studio.

Nanda Rammers is constantly innovating in her interior design practice. She travels regularly to the foremost European design expos, sourcing the latest products and trends from the most influential designers in the world.

Her recent trip to Europe, especially Italy, was motivated by making connections with artisans in the textile industry. On her journey she also soaked in the style of living in the provinces, including those inspired by ancient archeological sites. She also spent time with local artists and sculptors, and in retreats. This has furthered her holistic approach to interior design and wellbeing.

She stocks an exclusive range of products from numerous New Zealand and overseas brands, trusting relationships she has built up over the last 10 years with Twin Rivers Interiors.

She has been Programme Leader of the Interior Design programme at Ara, Institute of Canterbury between 2018-2020. She has also recently transformed the residential and commercial interior design programmes for Ara and Open Polytechnic.

She is very much inspired by nature, light and colour, and uses this as an inspiration in her drawings and photography, which she has printed and framed as limited edition pieces.

Nanda is a fully qualified interior designer, certified to design your kitchen, bathroom, furniture, exterior, and interior architectural features, curtains and numerous other options for window treatments, colour and paint consultations, flooring, and lighting, and can also assist you with project management, together with an architect or builder.

Workshops

Your home is your sanctuary — it’s your safe place to go to at the end of the day. It’s there where you are living your dream.

We can teach you how to create ‘the home you never want to leave’.

The starting point will be your personality, your ideas and your dreams. Together we go on to this journey to capture your emotions and create your own personal space.

In groups of 4-6, you will learn how to choose paint colours, combine these with curtain fabrics and make your ideas into a moodboard for future reference.

We will provide you with a goodie bag including a complementary Habitat Magazine, Resene 18 Range fandeck, Resene Neutrals and Whites Brochure, Resene paint brush outs, Resene colour wheel, fabric cuttings and the materials to make a moodboard.

Location
Twin Rivers Interiors Design Studio

For fabrics ordered through Twin Rivers Interiors a 10% discount on your purchase will apply or a refund of the value of the cost of your workshop. Conditions apply and this is depending on the dollar value of your order.

PS: We would like to ask you to bring something personal. Something you are very attached too and which you want to be part of the new design in your new space. This can be your favourite piece of art, a cushion, a photo, a piece of decoration, it has to be something that has emotions and memories attached to it as it will be used as the starting point of your design.

“We were most of the way through a rather complex residential building project and were trying achieve a traditional 'Seaside Florida/Hamptons’ weather-board look. We were also trying to carry the traditional external look inside but were getting a bit lost trying to narrow down colours and fittings to achieve our goal. The house needed to look like an older home that had been renovated with modern touches. This was proving to be very tricky. We were on the right path but had stalled with chronic indecision. No amount of dredging through piles of Trends and House magazines was helping us. We had half the bits to the jig-saw but did not have the confidence to move ahead. The components that we were looking at covered a fairly wide range of home styles and we were deeply worried that it would look like a complete mess. Along came Nanda. One visit to her office to view her extensive and inspiring selection of European and local samples/products was all that was needed to allow us to focus precisely on the look we were going for. What a huge relief. We made our initial selections and Nanda graciously allowed us to take her valuable sample packs home to live with for a while. This was great. The natural ambient and artificial light through the day changes so much in a home. It was fantastic to be able to take our time and review choices. We made several changes to selections over a period of time and at no stage did Nanda pressure us. Professional and personable. Nanda has a small team of professional manufacturers and installers (curtain manufacturers and hangers, wallpaper hangers etc). These people were brilliant to deal with and the level of finish was superb. Everything came together beautifully. We highly recommend Nanda and Twin Rivers Interiors.”
