Testimonials

“The results are fantastic, we’re very happy with our house….”

Owners - 'Modernist Twist'

"We found working with Wright and Gray Architects a pleasure and we're delighted with the results of our project. We could not imagine a better person than John to guide us through the whole process. From discussing our needs as a family, interpreting this into concept drawings, evaluating the quantity surveyors report, liaising with neighbours regarding resource consent, to project managing the work.

We found John to not only have creative ideas as an architect but to be professional, practical, sensible and an excellent communicator with both us and the other professionals involved in the project. We felt that John and his team listened to our needs and came up with ideas that both achieved our goals for the use of our home and added value while remaining aesthetically pleasing and in keeping with the existing structures. We found his guidance on cost vs benefit of our options his and attention to detail invaluable."

Owners - 'Kelburn Family Home'

"Shirley and I are extremely happy with the assistance and input from John and the team at Wright and Gray for the comprehensive renovations to our 1905 Villa.

John provided us with great service at all stages, from the concept design sympathetic to the heritage of the house, through the detail design, contract administration, to the project’s conclusion.

We are very happy with the result and all aspects of the comprehensive architectural service provided. While we did have firm ideas about what we wanted; John was able to bring those to fruition, along with his positive suggestions. John and the team were great to work with.

Twelve years on (now 2024) we still enjoy the renovations Wright & Gray enabled for us. The house “works” so well, while still retaining its heritage.

We would recommend John and Wright & Gray Architects Ltd to anyone embarking on such a project".

“…….everything is going very well – we’re loving it. With the change in seasons, there is more light coming through the Eastern side windows & skylights which brightens everything up. We’ve been socialising a bit and the response from everyone is WOW..!! It is exactly what we were after when deciding to open up the kitchen & lounge, it works very well..!”

Owners - Khandallah Views

"Shirley and I really appreciate the 1 bedroom apartment Wright and Gray designed for us, built on top of our garage. Working to a very defined budget, they developed a design that was much more exciting than we had envisaged.

Delivering unexpected privacy on a public site, the space constraints were well addressed. We were especially happy with how the apartment, while contemporary, fits into its context in an established and green suburb.

Wright and Gray provided end to end service to our genuine satisfaction.

This apartment has been a formal rental, and more recently AirBnB accommodation. All our tenants and guests share our excitement and satisfaction with the design".
