A beautiful warm renovation by award-winning designer Katherine Lightfoot, founder and director of Kella Design Co, based in Auckland, New Zealand.
The emphasis of this stunning project was to transform a tired and outdated house into a warm, inviting family home that enhances the overall atmosphere. This was achieved through the intelligent use of natural elements, soft textures, curves and a neutral colour palette that seems to be effortlessly symbiotic. The focus was to bring in natural light and to open up the living area to give the home a sense of space and allow it to come alive.
The selection of integrated appliances within the kitchen was one of careful consideration. Katherine and her team's design strategy was to make the appliances part of the overall aesthetics of the space and not clash with the natural tone of the materials. While priority was also given to specifying energy-efficient appliances that are built to last the test of time.
Conspicuously hidden above the island bench top is the Good Design Award winner for outstanding product design and innovation, CC-PARA4WS. The Paradigma modular ceiling cassette combines lighting and silent extraction in one sleek stylish unit. Powered by the externally mounted German-Made IsoDrive® it is intended to not be heard or seen but to quickly extract all the unwanted smoke, steam and odours. Keeping this stunning home healthier and fresher for longer.
