Anzac Square, Brisbane, is the state’s War Memorial commemorating Queensland men and women serving Australia in war and peace. To enhance the Square’s role as a place for ceremonial gatherings, education, and reflection, TKD Architects and Tract Landscape Architects prepared a masterplan guiding the project. The work included structural works, building conservation, the revisiting of gallery displays, and major landscape works. Bronze memorial screens flanking the Square record the towns where Queenslanders enlisted while the memorial crypt and galleries interpret their role with interactive digital media displays linked to the State Library of Queensland. New amenities include a lift, stair work, park furniture, and extensive lighting.
