Great working relationships produce great results – when everyone pulls together to test boundaries and explore new ideas.

This founding principle behind global leader Arup is also the story of our collaboration with them, designing a series of exceptional workplaces for their people in Australasia.

We first started working with the multi-national engineering, design and planning firm in 2013, understanding their business, employees and culture within the region. Through that process we could clearly see how the company wanted their workplaces to ‘pull back the curtain’ on the innovation and ingenuity of their organisation and people.

Over the next six years, we teamed up on new workplace guidelines, pilot projects and the design of multiple offices – all part of the company’s plan to progress the ‘living.Arup’ vision and change the way they engaged with clients and collaborators.

Our new guidelines set the overall ethos and working styles for all the offices, but we still left room for each site to show their unique personality through the workplace design.

Whatever the location, the underlying culture always comes across clearly, reminding staff and visitors how much Arup values the exchange of ideas, the process of experimentation and the power of engineering and design.

“It’s the embodiment of a collaborative exchange of ideas, knowledge and skills between Arup and Hassell.”
Andrew Pettifer Arup
Principal and New South Wales Region Leader

About the
Professional

Our purpose is to design the world’s best places – places people love.

Globalisation, climate change, urbanisation, and digitisation present new opportunities and challenges for how we live.

In this fast-changing context, we bring together the best designers and thinkers in a unique collaborative process that results in both beautiful design and measurable value.

We work across architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban design - a rich multi-disciplinary mix of skills and perspectives that unlocks the economic, social and cultural value of projects.

We combine our creative design expertise with capabilities in strategy, research, technology and experience design, and we regularly collaborate with experts and partners from further afield.

Through our work, we’re trying to build a more inclusive, sustainable future for communities - and create a more socially and ecologically resilient world.

Our clients look to us for more than our design skills. They want us to help them unlock value for their business and their end users – and find ways to better connect people.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
