This is a landscape design for a new house in Ashburton to match the owners’ lifestyle. The family wanted an entertaining and barbecue area at the side of the house. Children’s play in the backyard and a productive food garden in the front were other priorities. The front yard is now an array of raised vegetable beds. These beds are in an interesting variety of heights. Also, a central sitting space, in which to pause and interact with neighbours, is rimmed with espaliered fruit trees. “Not only does Gary have an amazing ability to turn vague ideas into a beautiful landscape plan, he is also such a pleasure to work with. With the help of Gary, we've been able to plan a much more appealing and usable backyard than we could have imagined, that all ties in beautifully with our surroundings.”
