Award winning kitchen designer, Trudi Rabbitte of Rabbitte Joinery, won two awards for this respectful, modern mid-century kitchen at the NKBA 2022 Excellence in Design Awards.

Originally a small and awkward shape, Trudi has transformed the space to provide a functional kitchen with better indoor-outdoor flow and specific requirements from the family, such as leaving the island uncluttered for a kid-friendly working space.

To stay true to the 1980's architecture of the house, a careful material palette was chosen, along with clever design choices such as the framed cabinetry door details. American Walnut - Crown Cut veneer from Prime Veneer used as the cabinetry surface gives the perfect mid-century feel to the kitchen, while also staying modern and beautiful. The natural richness of American Walnut brings warmth while the concrete-effect benchtop and brass tap and sinkware bring light to the space.
