Cairns State High School Multi-Purpose Hall

Cairns State High School was first built in 1917. Under the Queensland Government's Renewing Our Schools Program, the school has a new Multi-Purpose Hall under construction, part of three halls designed by TPG Architects in addition to Smithfield State High School and Trinity Beach State School. The new Centennial Hall will be a three-court Multi-purpose facility featuring a distinctive façade of laser cut panels based on the school's Indigenous logo. Stage, changeroom, lighting and sound systems allow attendance of the full school cohort.

The school's use of brickwork in much of its architectural heritage will be continued in this significant development.
