The owner’s brief was startlingly simple: A sustainable showroom and warehouse that would appeal to a broad range of potential tenants. The site on the edge of the Auckland CBD was previously occupied by a collection of run-down 1950s industrial buildings which had outlived their usefulness. In our design we sought to reconcile four major objectives: To provide a stimulating and comfortable working environment; create optimum storage conditions for the future tenant’s products; to improve the public realm through this intervention and to create an appropriate physical expression for the above requirements. “We were delighted to partner with Wingate on the design and delivery of our amazing new Auckland offices. Our brief was for Wingate to step away from the look of a traditional law firm and push the boundaries with a design that has more of a boutique and relaxed feel. Having been the first NZ law firm to embrace an open plan environment approximately 15 years ago and we wanted to be bold with our design to evolve the way we work to the next stage.
