Nestled in Melbourne’s South Yarra, AKI Design re-imagined a classic Victorian home by seamlessly integrating a modern extension, delivering a residence that honours its past while embracing today’s entertaining-centred lifestyle. It was crucial for us to honor the home's heritage by reimagining the two front rooms, the wine room and the music room which are both rich in colour. These two rooms are a nod to the heritage of the home and the clients love for music and wine. The client's fast paced lifestyle influenced the way we designed, creating spaces that catered for his love for entertaining whilst offering a sanctuary for our client to retreat to after a busy day at the office. The interior features high-end finishes, and a palette that reflects the home’s history converging with spaces designed for both lively gatherings and intimate evenings. Influenced by European design, the interiors feature a mix of vintage chandeliers in the front two rooms and an injection of modern furniture elements designed by the likes of Cassina, bringing that strong design aesthetic throughout the home. The kitchen features Viola stone and bronzed detailing, showcasing the rich nature of AKI's design aesthetic.
